  • Pretty much what we couldn’t have happen. Hope we can keep it close here.

Miller having trouble throwing strikes in warm up. Not good.

Peters got a infield pop up to set up a possible inning ending double play. Unfortunately, he got a double without to play that scores 2 for UConn to tie the game. After going 2-0 on the next batter Peters is out and Miller Pliemann is in.

Yep. A balk and a walk.

Shocks could really use a double play grounder here.

        • Sheesh. Bases loaded AGAIN and only 1 out. Down 4-2 now.

          • Shocker in year 6 just does not have the pitching depth to be a championship team.

            • UConn ends up with a 5-spot in the 2nd to take a 5-2 lead after 2.

                You’re just now realizing this?

There are a LOT of things that are not of a championship caliber with these teams and that has been demonstrated over and over through the last half decade.

A couple of fluke wins this week doesn’t change anything. Please try not to get fooled and look at the big picture.

                • @KungWu now that bat breaking in two is something you don't see much in college baseball with the composite bats. In fact, I don't think I have ever seen that.

                        • Shocks have stranded 5 in 4 innings but UConn has stranded 7. Shocks still in the game. Top of the order up for the Shocks in the 5th.

That’s the 5th above average play at or near the wall against the Shocks this tournament. They’ve been a little unlucky in that one regard.

Really feels like we’re running out of steam. Not a lot of energy from the guys right now.

Have to hang on here somehow. Walking the leadoff guy again would be bad.

                          • Walk, single, error 3B and there are runners on 2nd and 3rd with no outs. At least now if Stumpy can't throw a strike, which has been the pattern, it sets up a force play at the plate.

                            Edit: Called it!

We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

My guess is that was a semi-intentional walk. Keep the ball outside the zone and let him chase if wants to. I think it was a good move. Gives the Shocks the best chance to escape. Will see if it works out.

Excellent guess, had to give Marley time, but Stumpy couldn’t find the plate anyway.

                          • Cadena has done a great job blocking pitches in the dirt today.
