This article on the 'Bag Man' from a few years ago does a nice job shedding light on the reality of dirty college recruiting.

So, what do you think the odds are that a bunch of "anonymous" tips about Wichita State involvement are being phoned in from the 913 area code right now? Can't be any worse than even, right?

Frankly, I see Okie State getting tagged as karma for their role in the Maurice Evans investigation.

And Underwood bolted from Okie State to Illinois last season ... which could make for a really interesting situation.

Stumbled across this old story, which is funny in hindsight: http://www.espn.com/mens-college-bas...ies-recruiting

Pitino would like the NCAA to run summer camps so that rules are explained to recruits and coaches can watch all prospects. He blamed himself for not knowing enough about the current shoe company-AAU influence, but said it has made him wiser about how he recruits.

"As long as you do your homework, you're fine," Pitino said. "I didn't do my homework. ... We have to make sure we know that it doesn't matter to the kids; and those kids we want to go after."

Universiry-2/Player-3 is South Carolina, according to their board. So that's 6 schools.

It'll be interesting to track the assistants' past jobs and see if any more schools are implicated. The Tony Bland guy was a San Diego St assistant until a few years ago.

                          Per Jeff Rabjohns

"US Atty said it turned a financial advisor facing fraud charges, then had agents pose as advisors. Wire taps, etc., came from that."
"FBI's Bill Sweney to bkb coaches: 'We have your playbook. Our investigation is ongoing. We are conducting more interviews as we speak.'"
"US Atty to coaches who may be dirty: 'It's better for you to be calling us than for us to be calling you when we're ready to charge you.'"

Somehow these schools are going to turn themselves into the victims here. And of course, it would be a travesty for the NCAA to punish the victims in this situation. Just wait.
