I mean we are talking about writing with a wet butt biscuit here. Have you ever picked up a wet stink pickle and tried to draw straight lines with it? It's terribly difficult! I think the turdist, if he exists, is misunderstood due to a knee jerk reaction from people not hip on poop culture. And now a President has resigned over one man's bad boneless brown trout rendering.

On the other hand, let's say the turdist indeed wanted to go for the swastika symbology. I'm confused, because every time a turdist creates a Jesus fartwork, the Christians find it stinky and offensive. Of course they do! When you use a tootsie roll to render something, you are saying to the world "crap on that thing". So if the turdist went all swastika with his brown bear, isn't he saying "crap on the nazis", and therefore it's a good message?

But ultimately, if it did exist, did a university president resign because of a single man's action with a dooky?

If not doing enough, fast enough, has cost a university president his job, what should be asked of the student body president for spreading a rumor he didn't take the time nor effort to substantiate? I think an equally measured response would be for him to step down and perhaps even withdraw from school.

Kung Wu say: Schitt family must have strong genes, all kids obviously Schitt faced.

Kung Wu also say: Missouri University is clearly the Dook University of the Midwest.

Just about my favorite part of Robert Wuhl's "Assume the Position" special.

Now a professor has resigned after he refused to cancel an exam. Students were upset because they felt "unsafe".

Here's Missouri State's chance to swoop in and become the big fish in the Missouri state university system.

I heard they are considering reverting to SWOMO to avoid association.

Haha. The UM system is reeling right now. Cliff Smart is handling the situation very well in Springfield. There was an incident last year where some Ferguson protesters in Springfield had some racist things yelled at them and the student newspaper had an article with the epithets on the cover. Made national news for a bit. The difference is that Cliff knew the climate on campus and reached out right away to minority groups. In Columbia, you have a businessman as president of the system and the chancellor seems to be more interested in tweeting at women's soccer matches and writing books about how he got A&M in the SEC than keeping his eye on the task at hand. They got caught napping.

I think there very well could be a Mizzou diaspora. Every college in the state could see a windfall in enrollment as a result. The whole thing with the group of activists is just a real shame though. They have real grievances, but it seems they have been hijacked by a radical few that are pushing a different agenda. I was telling one of my coworkers yesterday that I think the Michael Brown situation set racial relations in this state back several decades. Both sides are just so radical and it is difficult to have a civil discussion on the relevant discussion points. And there are many. So very frustrating.

Great post and I agree with you 100%. The activists handled their interactions with the press totally wrong.

The most outrageous thing was the clip I saw on CBS where the professors were assisting the activists in pushing journalists out of the 'no media' area.

That was flat wrong and totally inappropriate for the professors to do that. They are leaders on campus and they need to make sure that the leadership is appropriate and sets a good example for students. Their behavior did neither. One journalism expert thought the art professor, who was an adjunct to the journalism department should have lost her job.

If she doesn't lose her job, I think she damn well better keep away from the journalism department. What she did goes against every tenant of journalism and a free press.

Likewise I agree with all of that. Living up here in Mid-Missouri now, I can tell you that they take their J-school ultra seriously. That is the crown jewel and that Comm professor resigned her courtesy position in the journalism school today. This ordeal has claimed several scalps already and no doubt will add a few more (I hope that using the scalping analogy is a micro-aggression that you all will forgive me for btw).

And in five years, this will be why Mizzou joins the Valley while the Bears move up to the Big 12.
There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

They finally released a redacted version of the police report where an officer recounts seeing the swastika. Now the questions are, who did it and what was their motivation? I still think this was most likely a false flag, but who knows.

So you continue to try to find some excuse, any excuse to blame this on. You were pretty quick to dismiss the young Jewish man who wrote the letter. Do you not believe people who have absolutely nothing to gain liars because that's how you and your friends roll or are you at some level of paranoid?

Again, I can not see where this young man is was gaining anything, especially the part of his letter where it says it happened for the last four years running. I also understand a person has the right to be skeptical, but you're making excuses here.

I'm not perfect, but I like to deal in facts. I was following the facts as best I could from my chair in south-central Kansas. I said nothing about the person who wrote the letter you're referring to except that it didn't constitute evidence of a poop swastika. My references to motivation had nothing to do with who wrote that letter and everything to do with, assuming this wasn't a hoax, who did it and why. And by "it", I mean the swastika, NOT the letter. Why do you find that concept so difficult to grasp? In fact, I'll even link to the only post where I mention the letter, in response to you posting it. Two brief sentences, and none of it related to the author of the letter.

There are as of yet no facts as to who did it or what their motivation was. So if I'm giving excuses, so are you. I find it silly that you think someone drawing a symbol using their own feces is supporting what that symbol stands for. Using feces is a sign of desecration, not support. But again, I'll allow for the possibility of a stupid college student doing something stupid and ignorant. But for now, what little facts are out there isn't enough for me to believe that it was a sincere gesture.

Nice post, but this isn't the first time you have done this to other posters. It's OK to be skeptical, but I find you beyond the point of skeptical. Sometimes you've told posters you refuse to believe their post because it comes from main stream media.

I think if you applied a little logic to this, you'd see that the kid who wrote the letter had a lot more to lose and a lot less to gain by writing it. That would mean that there's a ring of truth to what he's writing. As for the motivations of the person who did this, who knows? The fact that he used human waste to write his message could also be a perceived sign of contempt toward the Jewish community. The fact that the Jewish kid who wrote the letter said it happened each of the last 4 years kinda' throws a little cold water on your 'poor misguided dumb kid' schtick.

Once, a random incident - stupid kid. Every year for four years - someone with an axe to grind.

But I guess you aren't buying the part of the letter where it said it has happened every year for the last four years because it wasn't in the Federalist.

While I agree with you about the Shockers and Royals I definitely disagree with you on this. I think we need to agree to disagree on this one.
