Ready to Move Up to FBS Football

This team is going to struggle like I was saying but I do have full faith in Coach Steckel. He didn't bring in a ton of transfers, he is going to build this thing the right way from the ground up.

The thing that I don't understand (and say what you want about me but I haven't ever been confrontational or made things personal) is the constant mocking of MSU. You'd laugh at us hysterically if we had 5,000 people show up. Instead we have a technical sell out and you find that equally hilarious apparently. I am getting pretty tired of the schtick. We have been downtrodden in men's hoops and football for a while now. The fans are hungry for a winner. They absolutely do not deserve to be mocked for showing up in great numbers like they did this past weekend. That is completely bush league.

Your fanbase has brought it upon yourself. jtaylor has come here and brought the weakest trolling/smack effort in Shockernet history to the table and brought it upon yourself. And a MVJ mentioned, you brought it upon yourself 5 years ago. And you're getting exactly what you deserve.

You were all hickory-dee-doo-dah when the Bares won the Valley (still no NCAA's lol) and signing a sealed envelope in ink that MSU was joining C-USA. You talked LOTS of smack (most of it was horrible btw) and now you're getting it.

And it's HIGH-larious. I LOVE it. Your basketball program is an embarrassment. Your football program just beat a D-2 school by 8 points. Your fanbase packed the stands with $5 tickets probably because they wanted to get out of their meth houses and do something. It sure wasn't to see an MSU football game. That was evident by the student turnout. And even more evident in the floundering numbers after your big opening day festivities. Your average somewhere north of 9,000. And you all are stupid enough to believe your ripe for FBS football. You can't make this **** up !

I'll give you this. You are right. I love the MVC and I want you to do well if I'm really being honest. I will gladly admit that I am pulling for the Bears. That's how college sports works in my opinion. You root for your conference all the time and then you turn into snarky fans head to head.

Whenever I give you any trouble, I want you to know that it really is in good fun.

I think @Jtaylor would say the same thing. I love this conference. I want the current glory days that WSU is experiencing to happen all around the Valley. People still talk about how tough 2006 was and it would be great to get back to a conference landscape just like that.

We've proven we don't need the conference to do what we wanna do. That has been known for a while now. MSU flopping around like troutsniffers makes no difference to me. In fact, based on the trashy trolls that come here, I glee about it.

WSU is first and foremost. The rest of the conference can play ball or suck an egg for all I care.

Ask yourself this: Why aren't WSU fans making fun of Illinois State's football fan base? Indiana State's? Southern Illinois'? And so on and so forth. Why is it only MSU's fans that get "mocked"?

Because we've had to put up with years of "Wichita isn't a State" and similar witty comments paired with little relevance other than 1 year under Zo. Where I'll kindly remind you of the Kyle Weems throat slash. I'm all for a good rivalry. I'm all for an opponent doing something like that gesture, but when you do stuff like that, expect it 10 fold back. It's not our fault that you had one year of relevance and then proverbially **** the bed. You have one year, you act like world beaters, and then when you go 0-9 against WSU since then, you wonder "Why are people mocking us?" Grab a cup of Folgers, get some smelling salts, something, because this is 2015 and this is a reality check, wake the hell up.

SLU would not leave the A10 for the Valley. No interest there whatsoever. And SLU would not make up for MSU at all

Here is how it will play out. MSU and Wichita State to CUSA, Memphis to the Big East, Houston to the Mountain West. I wonder what the Valley would do because I don't see SLUH leaving the A10. Maybe Dallas Baptist will be ready to move up with their other sports in the next 5 years or so.

It all started when Brian Banowsky was in springfield this weekend. He met with the school and according to some people at the meeting left a sealed letter to be opened by the BOG. 3 different MSU athletic staff members admit to being asked if they would support a move to c-usa. this past spring it was mentioned that a one time 11 million dollar upgrade cost with an increase of the athletic budget of 2.5mil. This plan does include football if the offer was truly for everything except football MSU can stay in the MVFC and still play in the C-USA. The C-USA ahead of the MVC with or without memphis really you cant go any lower than the MVC your either an automatic qualifier or a multi bid conf.

It doesn't really matter about current attendance. FCS football isn't popular outside of the U of Montana and Appalachian State. No one in Springfield cares about FCS football. It would be an entirely different case if we were FBS.

We are well known for the two women's basketball Final Fours and the CWS in 2003. People know John Q Hammons, Ryan Howard, and Sean Marcum. They know our famous alums like the first gentleman on the first Bachelor tv show and others like John *******. We are in a great state with two major metropolitan areas and one of the nicest, fast-growing communities in the country is our own hometown. We can market all of these things. We have made tremendous strides as a school recently and will continue to do so under our leaders. And I would think nearly anyone who watches sports at even a casual level would realize that MSU is the school that was formerly Southwest Missouri State. The uniforms and colors are the same. College fans know.
