Here's the complainant's description of the night:
If I were Jans' lawyer, I would rip the everliving **** out of this.
While I'm sure what actually happened was not Jans' finest hour, and there are certain things he would take back if he could, I am equally certain that the above is not what actually happened, and no one here should be, either.
He needs to figure out his tour of atonement, and get started on it asap.Kansas is Flat. The Earth is Not!!

Maybe they shouldn't have reported it at all, and maybe now they wish that they hadn't. On the other hand, Jans should mostly be blaming himself.
Granted, CJ actions are still his undoing, but they certainly went through a lot of trouble to bring it to BGSU's attention.
Not excusing CJ here. He knows what he did was wrong. That said, he was unfortunate to have been there the same night as this alumni.
If this helps CJ better himself in any way, then ultimately this will all turn out just fine. The Assman

It is impossible to defend Jans in this situation. He has, in his own interview with his AD, admitted that everything he's accuse of did actually happen. The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.

(By the way, even if you take the termination letter as gospel, he doesn't admit to everything).
So the only real thing you've got is a letter written by a man with an agenda. If we assume, for the sake of argument, Jans did anything at all to the complainant's daughter, you can rest assured that letter was written with a distinct desire to paint things in the most negative possible light.Last edited by rjl; April 2, 2015, 11:13 PM.The truth will set you free. Definition of Battery - an offensive touching or use of force on a person without the person's consent. All it would take is for that girl to go to the Police and inform them she wants to press charges against CJ. If she can articulate that she never gave him permission to touch her arse, was offended and emotionally compromised, the Police may very well make an arrest as this would fit the requirement of a battery. There, the prosecutor makes the decision to file charges. Who knows how that would go down. You act like this scenario could never come to fruition.

Everyone needs to re read the report. That film was the first encounter the daughter had with Jans.

Admittedly I haven't read all sources on this, but do we have anything here other than conjecture, hearsay, and a 5 second video of Jan's smacking some random (not his wife, not cool) chick's ass? I'm not defending him necessarily, but if you are going to fry a guy's career at the stake, you sure as hell better have more than that.
Tort laws and libel also exist on the opposite end of the spectrum here.
EDIT: And if your family unit finds hanging out in bars in the early hours to be a reasonable activity, there's a pretty good chance you have some demons in your back pocket as well.Last edited by SHOCKvalue; April 2, 2015, 11:17 PM.
