Good guy that made a series of terrible decisions. With that said, I'm probably in the minority here, but he's paying/will pay for those mistakes and then some. In due time and getting help, and if Marshall thinks he deserves a second chance, I'd like to see him back on the staff.
I'm in agreement. I'm not sure Jan's is the best hire, but it wouldn't bother me one bit.

Crazy to read some of the holyer than thou comments on here. Guy made a mistake...everyone of us has made one too. He was drunk and trying to flirt inappropriately in a bar. Did you see the woman's face after he patted her butt? She wasn't upset.
I'm all in with CJ coming back as a shocker and hope we can welcome him with open arms while keeping him away from the sauce.
I merged the Jans getting fired into the Chris Jans thread. I merged into the Chris Jans thread, well, he and his family need to move forward and I hunk this is something Shocker Nation can do to be supportive. It is a small simple gesture.

Jans absolutely, positively cannot be on a basketball staff next year. He's going to have to demonstrate anger management issues resolved, alcohol issues treated and at least a year of demonstrated sobriety - more likely two years, and he's going to have to have had some sensitivity counseling.
Then he can start looking for a second chance. He's got to demonstrate that he can get past this problem before he gets that second chance. That's the territory when you are a high-profile in the public spotlight. A politician could get away with what Jans did, not a basketball coach.
Jans could become a consultant who reviewed film and created scouting reports. Any number of universities could subscribe to his services.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades. We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.
I will admit that there's a part of me that feels like he got hosed a tiny bit. Not because I support what he did at all but because it just somehow feels like he got hunted down a little bit. I am just trying to put myself in the shoes of the people who went after him. If I saw a guy having a rough night with alcohol and I could tell he was a mess, would I really go ahead and take the video, email the AD and burn him? Or would I just walk over and threaten it to get him to stop. I don't think I would want to actually end a guys career, I'd maybe just want to embarass him in front of his friends or something.

Right now, the only thing CJ has lost is his job, reputation and peace at home, but any blood sucking attorney is probably seeking out said woman/women and to convince her to file a civil suit. This may not be over for him. In fact, if this girl's family and friends start barking in her ear to press charges, there could be a sexual battery charge on CJ forth coming. Although patting a coed on the rump seems innocuous, an ambitious prosecutor could seek this charge if the woman decided to file charges. There are a lot of what ifs that could come into play here, I'm hoping that it doesn't get worse for the guy.
Here's another thing I think. I don't like it that the girl at the table was the one to get up and confront him. The men shooting the video should have been over there in his face. Just man code stuff. Sometimes the right punishment for a guy being a douche is to just get your finger in his chest. Passive aggressively filming him at his worst and posting it on the Internet to ruin him would be much harder for me to do I would like to think.
Not condoning his behavior at all. I just wonder if punching him was really the answer here :)

I'm just feeling a little compassion over here.
In defense of the family, it really looks like they didn't want him to be fired/possibly have his career ruined. They could have gone straight to the national news media and made it a much bigger circus than it was. To me the guy just sounds like a concerned BGSU alum and wanted the coach to receive a talking to on what was appropriate and what's not from his boss.

That is not sexual assault...give me a break. If they wanted to press charges they would have tried to do so by now. Anything that happens now just looks like a money grab that is likely to be thrown out by a court
