I had lunch with a guy who is a libertarian and works in politics. I asked him if he was voting for Johnson - he laughed and said he is LINO and would never vote for him. He despises people who say they are something that they are really not.

Guess it is settled. I'm writing in Rubio.

I'm not sure he'll find anyone to vote for this November.

Of the four parties who have picked up the most steam, all have nominated Democrats.

I get the point he was trying to make, but sheesh. You can't do that in an interview with a news network. That could be more oblivious than Trump's many objectionable moments. At least try to act presidential.

If I choose to vote for him now, it will be purely as a protest.

Legendary investor Jim Rogers appears to leaning towards the Johnson/Weld ticket.

Sounds like this opinion is based mostly on his economic outlook under Trump or Clinton. Of course, in Trump's case it is based on what he has said he will do but whether that will bear any resemblance to what he will actually do if elected.

Good luck to whoever will be the next President. I think they will need it in spades.

                    Fixed that for you.

And to be clear, "will not be the next President" equals "population of the USA minus Washington DC".

Not one of Johnson's best moments - name ANY living world leader he admires and he could not name one.

Asked to name his favorite foreign leader, or any foreign leader he admires, Libertarian nominee for president Johnson was unable to come up with an answer.

Not a good look for a potential American President, but there really aren't too many world leaders who aren't Socialists, Statists, or Theocrats.

American Exceptionalism is a real thing.

I can't really name one myself. BTW, when has admiring a living world leader become a litmus test to become President? I missed the memo on that one.

Based on his public comments I assume ol' Vlad is the Trumpster's most admired leader. I think Hillary picked her twin sister, Angela. Yeah, that really separates Donnie and Hill from Gary especially since Gary has been thinking about it and still can name a world leader that he admires. Glad that's settled. Now we can move on to really important stuff like what's their favorite flavor of ice cream or maybe even thinking about how to deal with the National Debt and runaway government spending.

Well lets see ... Merkel (Germany), Cameron (Britain), Putin (Russia), Vicente Fox (former Mexican president), the pope, and the Dalai Lama. Wow - real hard. Personally I would have pushed for being allowed to choose a deceased world leader - Churchill.

The point of the question is pretty obvious - to determine Johnson's knowledge of foreign affairs (which is an important part of the presidency). It is ironic that you mention debt and government spending - those are things the president does not have direct control over. Ever hear of congress having power over the purse?

The more I'm finding out about this ticket, the more I like what they stand for. I've had problems with some previous Libertarian platforms because they seemed to endorse "businesses should be abvle to do whatever they want and the public and the environment just have to deal with it".

I can't go for that. We've tried it and that's why we have some of the regulations on businesses that we have.

Johnson's stance on the environment seems reasonable - and rather similar to my own
