  • If I had a nickel for every time a Libtard Warrior hatched a plan for social justice using anybody else's money but their own... I'd have a whole lotta nickels.

The Europeans that came to SA were by and large protestants fleeing religious persecution - not unlike the early American settlers. Now when they (like us) landed on the shores of "our" new land, they were greeted by very primitive people (savages if you will). There are two choices at that point: sacrifice yourself or conquer. Not unlike the animal kingdom, survival of the fittest won out.

Many of the native Africans continue to be a very primitive people. In an article that I read, a SJW claims that White Privilege is the primary source of the local African's dilemma. He talked about the white's advantage via "capital" accumulation and actually went on to include education as a capital saying that whites continue to be more skilled and attain higher education levels than their black counterparts. He said that black SA's remain heavily under-represented in the skilled labor market as they are largely unskilled... (lol? Out of the mouth of babes.. that's called accidental lucidity right there.)

Now there's two ways to interpret this, the adult way, and the Libtard way. The adult (Conservative) would say that the native SA's have been free since 1994 and are now living in a free market, and while it's going to be very tough at first, through strong families and education attainment, there is no reason why they cannot lift themselves out of poverty just as every single immigrant that has ever come to America has had to do. The childlike Libtard says, "NOT FAIR! (tears in eyes) These poor Africans were ripped from their lands (living in the lap of luxury at the time no doubt - just look at all the shining cosmopolitan examples of uncolonized parts of Africa) and forced to stay on the other side of the tracks for decades. Reparations MUST be made and by reparations I mean the wealth that the whites have been able to accumulate through discipline, hard work, education, technology, trade, (-- AND LAND THEFT!!!!!111 during settlement --) must be confiscated and redistributed.

Childlike solutions won't work in SA; Nor will socialism - which has been tried umpteen times on that very same continent and failed miserably in ALL cases. Since 1994 there have been thousands of white farmers murdered; there have also been thousands of native Africans murdered. Both sides have blood on their hands. But as each year ticks away so do the excuses of the natives for why their impoverished conditions exist.

A comment was made at the end of an article that likely embodies the feelings of many SA whites.

"What I can’t understand is, the black people constantly remind us they were here before the white settlers. Can they please explain to me, why then, did they not develop the country before the whites got here? White people came to this country with not much. They developed this country using their knowledge, intellect and manpower. They reached out to black people by offering them jobs. The apartheid government built schools and hospitals for the black people….why did they never built their own, seeing they were here before us. Whites received nothing for free, we had to work for every single thing we own. Stop waiting for white people to give you everything, go out use your knowledge, intellect and manpower to achieve success."

CB's extreme solution now that religious persecution in Europe is largely over. Why don't the remaining white South Africans pronounce to the rest of the world that they are willing to liquidate their possessions to the government in exchange for a job and a decent mortgage in some other country. In doing so they can return the entire SA infrastructure - as it stands - to the local natives and allow them to have a go at it. This is what the natives want right?

I would love to watch that experiment unfold. Maybe they could turn it into Wakanda...

I've been known to enlist the help of inflammatory descriptors in my past for literary spice. It is not uncommon for CB to refer to all non-first world people as "savages" - particularly when it pertains to soccer *gags*.

Actually I would argue to the contrary. Once you conquer land, it's yours. To the victor the spoils. Even our Founders acknowledge that.

And that is somewhat at the crux of the debate. Great grandpa didn't "steal" the land from the native Africans -- he conquered it (or legally bought it from someone who did). Now the great grandchild is on the receiving end of another conquest ... this time from his government.

They will have to fight for the land or lose it. Plain and simple. They are vastly outnumbered and outgunned, so unless they are sly enough to gather some powerful foreign allies, they can kiss their land goodbye.

So I also agree, but I can see a reasonable argument in a spoils of war setting where the previously conquered are now in power. Anything beyond that is illiberal.

Honestly, I think both interpretations are true. It is not fair that these conquered people were oppressed for ~ 100 years. It will be a hard go at it, but they can work and use their skills to build wealth their own wealth.

Oppression or not, I think the point of many white South Africans is that if they had never "invaded" southern Africa, the area today would be similar to that of other African countries - 3rd world or worse. Dare I say we are currently just witnessing a case of sour grapes?

"Look what all you built and created on my land, MY LAND!!!"

It's not unreasonable to say that most if not all the value in the land has been added. Except of course for any mineral rights.

Is there an argument for SA being built on the backs of slaves? I know the British abolished slavery in 1833 and the Union of South Africa was created in 1909 after they defeated the Dutch who had started trickling in about a hundred years earlier to farm. Perhaps most of what we see in SA today was built slave free?

      • I think the farmers in SA need to figure out that they are currently in a hostile land. So their option is to negotiate some sort of concession, fight, surrender, or flee. It is what it is.

There is a revolution there. In essence, they are the British in America prior to the revolution.

Yep. They will be fleeing that country very soon. 2 wrongs make a right. That will be a very unpleasant place for the rest of my lifetime, and probably beyond.

      • It's good to hear some positive news developing. It was needed (good for the economy):

Using this logic, you agree that DACA "kids" should be deported and their property confiscated and given to Americans. Why should they be allowed to profit from the illegal actions of their parents?

          Agreed.

The same ideology built upon "but what-about?/see the hypocrisy?/can't trust it!" now pontificates that they're tired of hearing it! Hell they now evangelize "what's wrong with bias?" Best left alone... It'll take care of itself.

              • The sad thing is that so many Trump haters had such a bad day yesterday when the country had a good one. While I have to admit that Trump’s actions are sometimes hard to like. For example his feud with McCain should have been suspended yesterday but equally frustrating is how the left and the media over react to everything he does and totally ignore the good news.

i turned to CNN and even CBS yesterday evening and it’s like Mexico and the stock market surge never happened. The economy is going so good and a portion of America is unhappy about it.

Lots of people in the country aren't unhappy about the economy doing well, but they are unhappy about the method because it isn't sustainable. There are many of us left scratching our heads why you would pass a giant fiscal stimulus package during a time of unprecedented economic growth. During the recession, Obama's administration got an $800 billion stimulus package passed. And then the Republicans last fall were like "what if we doubled it?" and passed a $1.5 trillion tax cut despite strong economic growth and low unemployment.

So I'm certainly not unhappy about how I'm doing, but I just think it's shortsighted and I believe we should focus on reducing deficits during times of growth, so that we can stimulate the economy as needed when we are in recessions.

Lowering taxes on corporations and small businesses should have been done a long time ago and more Americans could have been working 10 years ago instead of just now. You’d rather give money to poor people instead of a job.

If you're going to call us out by saying we "took the day off" because we didn't post for a day on a political sub-forum of a Wichita State message board, why don't you talk about the actual economic issues I've brought up?

The tax cuts are a fiscal stimulus package, and it doesn't make any sense to pass a fiscal stimulus package during times of great economic growth. During Trump's administration the unemployment has been affected by what? Less than 1%? It was about 4.7% when he took over and it's at about 3.9% now?

I'm saying if we're going to spend a trillion dollars (or more) on jumpstarting the economy, let's do it when unemployment is about 10% as opposed to around our longterm, natural rate of unemployment. Recessions are for deficit spending. Growth periods are for paying down debt.
