Wouldn't that eliminate Marco and Byron Donalds, unless they give up their seats and move out of Florida? I think it's safe to say Trump isn't leaving the Sunshine State.

Back when the runner up for president became vice president, electors were required to vote for at least one person from a state other than theirs. Electors cast two votes with the winner and runner up being put in office. We no longer elect the executive branch in that way so it's irrelevant as now only one vote is cast for a pair of people.

      • If Biden is re-elected, she WILL be President. 100% certainty. There's absolutely no way he makes it another 4 years and 7 months. Maybe they can hide it another 18 months. MAYBE.

          • Former President Trump’s relatively new status as a Florida resident is complicating the potential of him choosing the state’s senior Sen. Marco Rubio (R) to run on the same ticket as him in November. The 12th Amendment maintains that presidential and vice presidential candidates running on the same ticket “shall not be an inhabitant of the…

            • The Resistance to a Trump Presidency has begun (or has it never ended?).

An emerging coalition that views Donald J. Trump’s agenda as a threat to democracy is laying the groundwork to push back if he wins in November, taking extraordinary pre-emptive actions.

They (Activists who oppose his immigration policies, etc.) are already planning law suits, and legal actions in the courts.

Can't read the article, but are they planning to deny the election if Trump wins? I thought that was bad.

Mainly threatening law suits to stop his plan to deport illegal aliens, etc., but although not mentioned, I'm sure things like HIllary's Russian hoax, etc. aren't out of bounds. Anything to stop his policies from advancing is the idea. World government I'm sure is the goal although not mentioned either.

                  • Former President Trump holds a nearly 20-point lead over President Biden in Iowa, a state former President Obama carried twice, according to a new poll. The new Des Moines Register/Mediacom Iowa poll found 50 percent of likely voters will back Trump in November’s election, while 32 percent said they will vote for Biden. Independent candidate Robert…

                    • There's an interesting piece, I think in the Times (surprising to say the least) that states based on their own polling that a large turnout is likely to benefit Trump. That's an obvious departure from almost every national election in the last 30 years at least. Trump outperforms Biden by a large margin among persons that didn't vote in 16 or 20 or were considered unlikely to vote. That would explain his course change in regards to early and or mail in voting. This polling tends to explain, to some extent, the successes the Dems have had in special elections and in 22 when most expected GOP gains that either didn't happen or were muted, to say the least.

                      Strange times.

                      • Trump still wants to get rid of mail in voting and vote harvesting, but says we have to play the game like the Dems do until federal voting rules are established for voter registration and elimination of all the voter fraud pathways.

I'm skeptical that this would ever pass. Too many states (state activists, and average state political insiders from all states) value their freedom from the federal government to take away the state powers that they have to run their own elections (and a lot of states, and people with money will heavily lobby against plus both houses of Congress which includes a 60/40 majority in the Senate). Maybe with the Democrat strategies that they are employing now with illegal immigrants (voting rights included) there might be a small inkling that it could pass, but it's going to be sticky, just like even though a large majority of the public (60-65% in a recent poll) right now say they support mass deportations of illegals, that issue (with help from the liberal opposition) will become sticky in the courts, and sanctuary cities aren't just going to disappear so that police everywhere contact ICE when they find illegals. That issue is going to be a "rocky" issue if Trump is elected.
