The future of the US economy (and the world) will not look the same as it has in the past. Tried and true economic concepts/principles will evolve. Some of the latest generations have shown a drastic change in tastes and preferences. Technology has a lot to do with it.
In the future there will be genetic manipulation. The kid who's asking for a litter box now, might actually look half-cat in the future.
There will be very little unskilled labor. Automation will rule the day. I've never been a fan of the "living wage" concept for all the reasons that have been traditionally true. But perhaps "hard work" is going to be defined differently in the future. Perhaps technology will afford future generations the opportunity to pursue their dreams irrespective of pay (see: Star Trek).
If you think about it, technology HAS been making life easier for over a hundred years. Who's to say it doesn't eventually solve the ol' "sweat of the brow" tradition.
Creativity will certainly rule the day. Mind-numbing coding, or back-breaking riveting will be a thing of the past.
Don't be scared of the future. Embrace it. Since you really have no choice, perhaps try and make the best of it.
Unplug from your puppeteers. Read a non-political book. Do something nice for a stranger. Love your family.
The Democrats are right on a lot of things. The Republicans are becoming less and less right the more Donald opens his mouf.
Moderation. Common sense. Cooperation. Rule of law. Good will towards man. These tenants are the ones to live by and enter the new age with.
