I listened to the entire conversation (at least what was available) and I came away very, very skeptical of it's authenticity.

I would assume Jeff Dewit resigns today. That was embarrassing, to say the least.

It's hard to say who is playing who in these roles. Is Kari trolling (certainly she is to some degree) for her own benefit or purely uncovering the swamp?


Part of me believes the Dems/Media are celebrating Trump's win, no matter how much hand wringing they do in regards to the destruction of Democracy. I believe they know they can't beat anyone but Trump. But I'm cynical.

Gender identity, critical race theory, critical queer theory, and a rejection of the creation of mankind started in Europe, and have now with BLM, LGBTQ, and other radical theories have spread across the pond into our culture, homes, and in every strata of society. We are in a sad place in our society where there aren't any standards for crime, etc. and now anything goes.

Lake spoke about the incident almost immediately after, during her CPAC 2023 speech, which was given on March 3, 2023. She said, in part:

They called me before and said, "I gotta talk to you in person. This can't be done over the phone...."

They came to my door and they tried to bribe me out of getting out of politics. This really happened. I'm telling you this because this is how disgusting politics is. A mom who runs for office, and they're afraid of me? They tried to bribe me with a job title, with a huge salary, a position on a board...

So this person standing before me was sent at the request of some powerful people back east. They want me out of politics.

DeWit admits that the conversation between himself and Lake occurred, but says that the recording that was released was "selectively edited" and "taken out of context." He says that Lake worked for him in his "private company" at the time and the conversation was one between an employer and employee, and that the release of the recording was "not just a betrayal of trust but also a violation of the fiduciary responsibilities of an employee."

It seems odd to claim that a conversation in which he told Lake that "there are very powerful people who want to keep you out" of the U.S. Senate race and, that she could basically name her price to stay out of politics for two years, and which he begged her to not disclose to anyone because he feared he'd be targeted for a car-bombing assassination -- and in which she was being offered generic positions in companies that were not his -- has something to do with her fiduciary responsibilities to his company, presumably Superfeed.

DeWit says that Lake's team sent him an ultimatum Wednesday morning that unless he resigned by the end of the day "a new, more damaging recording" may be released. He says:

I am truly unsure of its contents, but considering our numerous past open conversations as friends, I have decided not to take the risk. I am resigning as Lake requested, in the hope that she will honor her commitment to cease her attacks, allowing me to return to the business sector - a field I find much more logical and prefer over politics.

Trillions of dollars every year to divvy as they please. They aren't going to give up easily. And probably not at all. There is a reason they hang on until the grave. Me thinks its because jail is the alternative if anyone ever does any real reforms to weed out the corruption.

This infighting doesn't make any sense to me. If the party wants to survive, there will always be a donor class that pushes their opinions on others. That's Human Nature.

Trump, Lake, and whoever, can't win without some big money donors because most of the Big Money Elites have gone to the Democrat Party, and they can totally out raise the Modern Conservative Republican donor class. No money = Lost Election.

I want Texas to bring back and Revise an old Battle Cry over the Fight with the Feds over Eagle Pass Park, and then fight to the end. "Remember the Alamo". :)
