America is importing 75,000 barrels a day from Russia. This means, Joe Biden is handing Putin over $10M per day for energy. The United States is financing their war machine.
Well yes, but Trump started it. At least according to Clod...

I think he's a bit off on his number. Everything I've have seen is about 575,000 per day.

          • Kiev and Kharkov are going to be besieged and maybe flattened. Putin may not take all the country on a permanent basis but he is going to virtually destroy its capacity to be a viable nation. The end goal is for it to be like Belarus. Interesting now that news reports claim that Belarus troops are apparently joining in on the invasion. Guessing they will be going in further west to cut off aid from Poland. So now the Ukraine may be fighting armies from 2 states.

Just watching all the posturing and legal debate tonight on Deutch TV is depressing.... "no action, talk only" is what got us to this state of affairs in the first place. Don't want to read any more articles that claim that Putin is really losing because he has lost the PR war and sanctions have come down on Russia's head. The only positive so far is that Germany will raise its level of defense spending to about 2% of GDP... or at least they now claim they are going to do that.

We currently are a Russian energy customer. The best thing that America could do for the world is to be energy independent, and give energy alternatives to European democracies so they aren’t forced to be Russian energy customers. The green far left of the Democrat Party, the Green Party, and other leftist liberals are driving the Russian economy.

Russia is adjusting their tactics. They tried to win the war over the weekend. It didn't work out (but they have always been willing to throw men away). They are now taking a more measured approach which means leveling of civilian areas. Belarus and Chechnya are sending troops.

Russians are winning in the South and will take their objectives at minimum. Ukraine is fighting bravely, but the math doesn't work out for Ukraine without some outside support changing the formula.

                • Fascinating read why Russia is struggling. I think no matter the outcome this week or month, Putin loses.

                    • If Putin is actually facing being charged with war crimes, and if he actually is insane, why not use a nuke?

Because he's not insane. He has goals, dreams, and a family. He understands that the game of politics (and life?) is over the second he lets loose one of his dirty birds.

Now... he is certainly not a good person, likely a sociopath... but, does he want to render all his wealth and power meaningless over ego and ideology? He'd have to be stark raving mad.

In a recent speech that follows, does Pootin' appear to be unhinged or in any way compromised?

Regardless of the outcome, he likely has already rendered (to a degree) his wealth and power meaningless. Very few will want anything to do with him after this, even in his own country.

                            • Where is “the line”? This was being discussed, painfully so, in my house today.

How many FAEs/Thermobaric bombs have to go off in civilian areas before the rest of the world says enough?
