While vigilantism isn’t ok, it’s going to happen. It’s not good, they are breaking laws too, but when police become sitting ducks, some idiots are going to react.

More will happen if Democrat leaders don’t take control and end the riots and violence.
Not sure I would call him a vigilante. Per the definition, taking the law into one's own hands and attempting to effect justice. The shooting was obviously self defense. If the poluce would have been there to keep those idiots from burning down the town and punching 72 year olds in the face, there would have been no need for citizens to protect the town.

Or better yet the National Guard. But, the Gov. of Wisconsin turned that down initially.

He left his home 11 miles away and drove to a riot with his AR. This guy didn't step out front door to a shitshow and had to protect his property or life. He looked for trouble and found it. He is a vigilante.

I'm guessing if you have friends or family in Augusta that are under attack and having their **** burned to the ground, they shouldn't call you for help, huh? (Assuming you lived in Wichita, that is)

First of all how would anybody know if Augusta got trashed?

            I keed.

That's not what happened here. These weren't his family or friends. He went where the action was. Police were outnumbered at Herman Hill but rolling down there from Kechi with an AR wouldn't have been protecting anybody. It would have been looking for trouble.

You can own a rifle, but it is a misdemeanor to open carry. Carrying a firearm is a natural right, not intent to murder.

It wasn’t vigilantism. It was self defense.

You can go***** believe the people watching their lives go up in smoke, with no help from the state government to protect them, are calling the guy anything but a vigilante.

You think that 71 yr. old citizen that got cold-cocked while protecting his property, and lucky for him not killed, if he is still alive, doesn't wish that gun-holder would have been there in his time of need for some protection?

Context bobb, context. It was a riot and people were being hurt and property destroyed. Not unlike what you have seen for the last 8 weeks. Biden finally spoke up about it today. Your President voiced concern on night #1.

It's too late for Stinky-fingers to get in front of it now.

He was actually cleaning graffiti off the walls and picking up trash from the night before. Also there is a video of him treating a member of the mob for injuries hours before the incident. He went out to help people and was damn lucky he was able to defend himself.

                    Headline should read:

Boy kills attacking pedophile in self defense.

Sure, but ALL the people down there with weapons did the same thing. Actually some of them came from a LOT farther than 11 miles. You are saying when he scooped up his rifle he went down there with intent [to kill]. He may have scooped up his rifle for defensive purposes while he counter-protested, just like many of the protesters are carrying firearms for defensive purposes.

If there was no prior contact with the shootee before shooting him (i.e., they were talking **** earlier in the evening), and there are no witnesses who will testify that he was inciting violence or threatening people prior to being attacked, then he is in the clear. The gray area will be if the the prosecutor is particularly competent and aggressive and manages to land a liberal jury. The prosecutor's job will be to convince the jury that the shooter had malicious intentions when he decided to go down to the riots armed.

He will also be screwed if at any time he pursued somebody with a gun unless they had a hostage. You cannot prove "fear of mortal danger" if you're chasing somebody.

But if you're running (I didn't bother with the link because I'm getting ready to go watch the Five on DVR)?

Roll the tape for the jury.

Again, it’s not surprising that others fill the void that is left by Democrat politicians who refuse to enforce the laws (looting, fires, and lawlessness). I don’t care what he is called. It was unwise for him to do this imo but if this violence and lawlessness continues, more people stepping into the lawless gap will happen.

Unwise to do what? Go to a riot devoid of police? Absolutely!
