Makes no sense that the guy that started all this got nothing, yet Ventura, who was just following the unwritten rules, got fined. Go to Sunday's game. Kazmir, who stirred it up again by hitting Cain, should have been immediately ejected and ultimately fined. Somebody has it in for the Royals this season and it's getting unbelievably sickening

Originally posted by RoyalShock View PostI don't think it can be argued that Lawrie isn't tough. But what he did to Esky was dirty. His excuse that "he was on top of the bag" is much worse than when a pitcher says "it got away from me".
That said, there were mistakes made by Royals players. Ventura should have kept his mouth shut after plunking Lawrie. It would have been over at that point. If Herrera really wanted to respond to Kashmir hitting Cain, it should have been an off-speed pitch at the feet. The jawing on his way off the field was too much, too. I don't know which explanation is true, but he put it out there for interpretation. The five game suspension is fine, and he knows it. The appeal is to give Holland time to get over the pec strain, so they aren't without two of the HDH trio.
What is bothering me more out of all of this is the bigger picture of why KC players have been targeted. It seems other teams don't like the way the Royals "play the game", which is code for, stop having fun and celebrating after a good play. This idea that players should just jog around the bases, walk into the dugout with a couple of high-fives is silly. It's not like the whole team is going out and meeting players at home plate. (I wonder what they think of how college players "play the game"?) Maybe guys like Albert Pujols are just jealous of others who have fun while they win.
Ok, rant over. Again, somebody, well actually, a lot of somebodys, have it in for the Royals this season, and it's getting sickening to watch.

Another benches-clearing brawl that appears to have been started by Ventura saying something to Eaton as he jogged to first after a come-backer.
There had been two hit batters and some jawing between the teams leading up to that, so we won't know exactly what was said by who, but I'm growing tired of Yordano's inability to keep his mouth shut.
