I haven't been able to eat Pan and Handtossed at Pizza Hut since they started freezing thier dough.

Now I only order thin crust, and only from a specific one where a friend is the manager, and I know the dough is made properly daily.

Best pizza Wichita had IMHO was Pizza Inn but they`ve left town. Thats been like 20 years ago when they had a location west of Seneca & 31st street south. Nearest location today is Ponca City Oklahoma.

Il Vicino and Fusion Pizza in Wichita both make great pizzas.

Best pizza in Wichita is AJ's...

          No competition.

Although, I will nominate Defazzio's for second place...

Best Pizza I ever ate was at a hole in the wall pizza place/lounge in Rockaway Beach, Missouri called La Pizza Cellar. Just north of Branson on Lake Taneycomo.

Great Great place, family ran, family worked, and made from scratch everything each day.

IMO's is fantastic...eat it every time I'm in STL.

It's like eating pizza toppings off a cracker.

There's one at Seneca and Pawnee and another one at Amidon and 21st I believe.

Thanks Sub for the info. I checked the yellow pages a few years ago when I was back in town but did not see anything listed. I've eaten a lot of burritos and tacos but never found any that compared. Probably due to old memories never quite living up to expectations.

There used to be 7 or so locations in Wichita. I'm not sure what happened but they almost completely vanished. We used to hit the one at Kellogg and Rock back in the day. After they shut that one down we used to hit one up on Oliver then it disappeared what seemed like over night. My sister works at Cessna and will sometimes bring me some TG from the one on Seneca. When I used to work for the USPS and the REC was located on Pawnee I used to pick some up before work at 11pm. Hopefully they're slowly building back up as I've talked to a lot of people who still say TG is the best. But there just aren't any conveniently located for me. But it is worth going out of my way from time to time.

I'm having all kinds of food flashbacks. As a youngster I also enjoyed Shakey's Pizza Parlor near 13th & Oliver... later became an Applegate's Landing. Loved the balloon you could attach to the little card board feet... just a good overall atmosphere. I even recall some scribbling above the restroom stool... "If you can pee above this line, the Wichita fire department wants you." Ironically, I never qualified to become a local fireman.

Angelos was the king. nothing like a pizza that was four times as thick as anything else. Four times as thick might be an understatement if your talking about the deluxe mega monster that was the closest thing to perfect ive ever come to when it comes to pizza.

There is an Imo's a few miles from my apartment. Yeah, I'm kind of bragging.

Glory Days was our drunk college food. I'm surprised someone eats it sober.

And Taco Grande is the best Meixcan fast food ever. Sub has the right idea. I'm heading back to Wichita for my dad's birthday this weekend. Grande will be eaten. I can't wait. The amount of food I can put away from there is really quite amazing.
