All joking aside; this is a ‘win-win’ for WSU and the City of Wichita. It's another great day to be a Shocker!

I don't know what training they go through but they are a part of the "State" police. They used to have more jurisdiction than WPD or SCSD. That may have changed since I was detained for drinking alcoholic beverages on State property. Apparently they go through extensive testing because the officer that detained me in my undergraduate years was able to tell the difference between 3.2 beer and "liquor store" beer just by smelling it.

Follow the link to a pdf download of the latest schematic of "Partnership Building 2" which as outlined here is projectively set to open Spring 2017. Not new news, but looks like WSU is actively recruiting companies to relocate and rent/buy space in this building. As far as the map goes, you can see the latest rendition of the innovation campus. The LETC looks to be located just north of the Airbus building.

Once they develop all the parking and streets on the IC, they need to start running buses during basketball games on all game days, not just the ones that have classes in session. This would allow for those without parking passes to make use of those and not have to make that distance of walk. Half a mile from 17th to CKA is one thing and an easy walk unless the weather is nasty, but walking nearly a mile from Oliver is another matter. Or maybe...

I can't get excited about Starbucks. I don't see how it ties to the university as anything other than a commercial outlet that hires high school grads (or dropouts) and only wants to profit from the traffic on the campus.
I was last on campus around 1999-2000. The coffee sold in rhatigan Student Center put anything from Starbucks to shame. Let Styarbucks locate on the northeast corner of 21st and Oliver. That location needs some commercial outlets. The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.

I'm not a coffee drinker, and if I was I wouldn't be spending $7 on a cup of it, but Starbucks is a FANTASTIC fit for a college campus. It is a great get, and hopefully a sign that the NE corner of the IC can draw some retail-level commercial activity.

I don't know the situation on dining employees on the WSU campus (do they hire any WSU students?), but I would think "affordable dining" would be a priority. It was in my day anyway.
