I don't know the situation on dining employees on the WSU campus (do they hire any WSU students?), but I would think "affordable dining" would be a priority. It was in my day anyway.

I would sure assume an RFP was sent out on the opportunity. It is the business's job to seek those out and respond.

Not necessarily a direct link to growth at WSU but in the Eagle an article about Robert Litan. A SE high school grad circa 1968. Penn Grad and law school and PHD in Economics from Yale. Spent most of his career in DC and moved back to Wichita to get away from the same. He said he and his wife probably would not have moved back if they couldn't have gotten WSU Basketball tickets. Interested in helping with the entrepreneurial renaissance in Wichita. The article says Dr Bardo has contact with him and looks to tap into his expertise. He did say he was a Bill Clinton democrat so I hope everyone doesn't get worked up about his party affiliation. LOL l

Glad to see that it is an upper scale hotelier going in. The people involved in this have a good track record as far as I can tell at building exciting venues. So glad I get to see take place what some must have envisioned 50 years ago. Go Shox

Wouldn't be surprised at all if WSU doesn't get a single response to the RFQ. The area around WSU - all directions - has had essentially no development activity for decades outside of things very specific and no-brainer in relation to the school. Just because Bardo is now asking for development doesn't mean there are any investors out there ready to plop down funds to make it come to fruition.

I'll gladly eat my shorts if it happens though, and none of this is to say I'm not a fan of Bardo or what he has done for the school. Just being realistic.
