I stayed in and watched the game last night. I should have rode my bike like you did.

It felt like I was watching prehistoric man (on bikes) trying to escape a dinosaur. Had NO idea this wild feathered beast could ever act in such a sustained hostile manner. Or was it just having fun? They can hit 45MPH btw...
Don't mess with any ratites. That would include peacocks. I had a close encounter with a pavo real in Cancun. Bartender told me to stay still and stay quiet, she looked me up and down and she wasn't happy. That's when I learned my peacock call was probably a little too accurate...

Yeah, I looked all over for a cool meme saying something like "two hours of my life I'll never get back." But since I'm really don't feel like laughing about it, and I just need something to help me forget it (and I don't drink), I think I'll just look at some other sporting event type activities.

I feel better already....what was it we were talking about?

You gotta' love the thrill of victory!

Got super extra special permission from my boss today to go out and ride a little early. I got right at 22.

            • Weather in a super uncooperative mood here. Coudy. Cold, 45 degrees. Windy out of the south 15mph. Wife was a trooper and we got in 17 miles in the cold along Armour route and railroad corridor after briefly touching the redbud trail out east. So a zig zag effort. Sitting at 180 for the month to date.

              • It's drizzlerable here. Started in unexpectedly a little early yesterday, just as I got to the bike shop to have some adjustments made. Kept me on the sidelines yesterday and will probably do that today as well.

Drinking Frangellico and Bailey's in my coffee today and waiting for the Chiefs to be on TV. At least there are alternatives, but I'd rather be out riding.

                • 5-8" of snow expected tomorrow. This has been a crappy winter.
There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

                  • Okay, now 8-14" expected. Good thing I have a trainer.

I saw the videos. Ugly. And it seems as if the snow will go to the east as Des Moines was supposed to break (or come close to breaking) a 24-hour snow record.

                          • Got in 22 last night in about an hour and a half. Need to do that (or close to it) for the next two days. Some of that cold air is going to find its way down here on Thursday, so I'm changing my normal weekly routine.

And I'm glad the game got postponed. At this point, I'd rather get my miles in than watch the game.

                            • Another 22 last night. Need a good ride tonight or tomorrow. But I still need around 100 miles this week to break 300 for January.

                              • Last couple of days at work have been brutal hectic. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnd........like 29 degrees yesterday....24 right now, light flurries....wind chill ridiculous.

Having had children who were swimmers, I may be the only one who gets this. But yeah, its a thing, and its cold.
