This is the Sedgwick County dashboard: https://sedgwickcounty.maps.arcgis.c...15d52450acfe0d

At the bottom of the graph there are tabs. The data is under "Hospitalizations".

      • Honestly, if people would just stay off the Kansas highways avoiding deer altogether, and walk to the clubs, church, and sporting events their mortality risk would be halved. God I love maths. It's science!

          • Looks like a compromise was reached with respect to the masks here in Texas.

The county judge in San Antonio proposed a health and welfare policy that must be posted at every public establishment. The policy requires a mask. If the establishment does not comply, they CAN be fined $1000, though it would seem like law enforcement would not have much of an appetite to enforce.

Not only that, our governor is going to crack down on bars, it seems as if this is the cause of the spreading problem (based on their reaction), this reg is related to enforcing of social distancing guidelines.

In Dallas, 413 new cases and 9 deaths. Only 189 new cases in Houston (not Harris county) and 7 deaths.

Neither would an MD. That's for scientists and engineers to work out (PhDs).

I believe I'll be taking my advice and making suggestions based off of the recommendations of Dr. Fauci and the CDC. I consider those reliable sources. I believe Dr. Fauci and the CDC rely on this thing called "science" and they do research from studies that produce data.

If limiting the spread of a deadly disease is a "leftist control tactic", then I will gladly succumb to that "leftist control tactic". Labeling an effort to reduce the spread of a virus that has killed about 120,000 Americans (so far) as a "leftist control tactic" shows an incredible bias and appears to be a desperate effort to support bad policy endorsed by the White House.

There are around 330,000,000 people in the Untied States. There have been around 120,000 deaths so far. That is a death rate of more than 1 out of every 3,000 people so far. I'm of the opinion that ANYTHING that can be done to minimize future deaths should be done. I'm also in favor of cranking the economy back up as fast as possible. The best way to do that is if EVERYBODY wears a mask.

Wearing a mask should be a "rightist control tactic" because that's the best way to achieve a recovered economy without increasing, or with minimal increase of infection rates. Since Sedgwick County removed all restrictions our number of cases has doubled and the percent of tests that come back positive has quadrupled.

In two years (2014-2016) ebola killed 11,300 people worldwide. We've lost 10 times that many people in under 4 months in the United States.

You know what works better than masks? Not congregating in groups of 10s of thousands. Why aren’t the scientists condemning that? Why are they encouraging it? If their goal was “limiting the spread of a deadly disease” they would have a spine and speak out against it. Instead they fully support it. It’s disgusting!

Well, their "science" has been utterly wrong basically every step of the way so... Remember when millions of people were going to die?

When Trump got into a Twitter war with the porn star calling her "Horse Face" I almost gave up on him. It was beyond anything I could even imagine coming from a president and incredibly embarrassing. But putting on the equivalent of a packed NBA game, in a state that he will win easily, for no other reason than to... I can't think of a reason really... while we're in the middle of the most potentially dangerous pandemic in 100 years is beyond comprehension. It's moves like these that will cause him to lose the election. They are indefensible. He is literally advocating to his followers that they shouldn't follow the CDC guidelines during the CRUCIAL and precarious period of reopening the country. It's almost like he's giddy to go shopping for the rope to hang himself with. If I was the DNC, I'd just sit quietly, keeping Biden hog-tied in the basement, while devouring a 40 gallon can of popcorn. It's like a gimme. Trump is single-handedly working against the successful reopening of the country.

C'mon man; you're smarter than that. We shut down the country in lieu of having mass deaths. Even Trump admits to that fact. Had we gone for herd immunity, it would have been a bloodbath once the hospitals failed. We have maybe 5-15% of the country infected at this point with no hospital failures and 120k dead. Had we infected 50% of the country over the same 4 months..... yeah, it could easily have hit 1M, or much, much more. Anybody disagreeing with that point is either ignorant or trolling. I'm okay with trolling.

                              • Science is far from exact and you would be foolish to blindly follow that. Especially with respect to Covid when the "science" is being rushed for media and sensationalism and is causing widespread panic and fear when it isn't warranted. I choose to take a measured and logical approach rather than watch CNN every night and panic based on what unqualified people with agendas have to say.
