Kelly Bond-White has certainly paid her dues as an assistant in a very successful P5 program. 17-years as an assistant under Gary Blair. 3 years at Arkansas and 14 years at Texas A&M. Has been the Associate Head Coach at TAM for the last 10 years. TAM won the National Championship in 2011. Five Sweet 16's in the past 9 years.

Sounds like a very good recruiter in areas that are of prime interest for Wichita State to mine.

No complaints here if ADDB decides Kelly is the choice.

That's not it. @shockerfanmas: was hoping for Lane Lord (D-II), John Ontjes (Juco) or Gino Auriema (I think UConn is in a League of Their Own).

Yep, 1972Shocker hit the nail on the head. I was hoping to see Lane Lord get the position. Geno Auriemma was more of a joke than anything, I knew that wasn't going to happen. But no, I'd be disappointed most for Coach Lord, who I know and respect very much, and I know that he wants to move up sooner than later.

Other than that, if that's the choice that is made, I will get over my disappointment, as will Coach Lord, and accept the new coach and see how she does.

Oh believe me, I know all about how tough it is to get a coaching job. I'm having a hard enough time getting coaching jobs at the middle school and high school level. I couldn't even imagine trying to be a college coach at any leve.

Chris Lamb coached 4 years at El Molino High School in in Forestville, California. During that time he founded was was the head Coach of the Empire Volleyball Club which he led for 9 years.

He than served a successful tenure as an assistant coach at Cal State - Bakersfield for 4 years before moving on to serve as an assistant at Arizona for 3 years.

Another grinder who paid his dues over an extended period of time.

Arguably Kelly Bond-White has a resume every bit as strong, if not stronger, than Chris Lamb did at the time of his hiring. If Kelly is the choice and she is even remotely as successful as Lambo has been I think most Shocker fans will be quite satisfied. Of course, no way to predict how this will actually go.

I thought lane was the lesser of the three coaches. Adams and Bond-White are known commodities at the D1 level and good ones. If it is indeed Bond-White I think that is a sure sign that we are in the AAC.

Keitha Adams would seem to be a known quantity. Not sure that Kelly Bond-White is. She certainly has a strong resume as a chief lieutenant but you never know for sure how that will translate to being the top dog just as you never know for sure how head coaching and recruiting experience at a lower level will translate to a higher level.

I think the deck may be a bit stacked against Lane Lord.

Texas A&M has a 2017 Women's Coaching Carousel thread on their board. They mention the Wichita State job being open but no mention of Kelly Bond-White being a candidate for that job or any other job. Whether that is of any significance is hard to say. Probably not.
