Jody gets stung by her strategy of leaving players in the game with 2 1st half fouls. Jamillah picked up her 2nd foul with 4:15 remaining and then picked up her 3rd 10 seconds later. Both good calls. Then the officials missed a foul call on Alex at the basket and Jody picked up a very rare technical.

Pretty typical 1st half for the Shocks with their defense carrying them and getting just enough offense from 2 or 3 players.
Alex has 10 points and 5 rebounds at the half and Kelsey has 6 points on 3 of 6 shooting but has missed a couple of bunnies. Alie and Michaela were cold in the 1st half both going 0-4 from the field. The Shocks were also hurt by Jamillah's foul trouble.
However, Jaleesa gave the Shocks a huge lift off the bench with 8 points on 4-6 shooting and a couple of rebounds in 13 minutes off the bench.
Hopefully, Alie and Michaela can get something going in the 2nd half because UNI will give them some good open looks.Last edited by 1972Shocker; March 14, 2015, 03:38 PM.

Jamillah picks up her 4th foul with about 16:30 remaining. Not sure that is that big of a deal since Jamillah was playing horribly.
Dapprich just picked up a technical and may be a flagrant 2. They are looking at it.
Announcers think it is a flagrant 2.
Ruled as a flagrant 1. The Shocks with their 2nd tecnical of the game.
Shocks up 34-23 and not looking good particularly good. Maybe starting to get a little tired.

Shocks lead 56-34 with 2:45 remaining and Jody wisely pulls the starters.
Kind of scary watching the Shocker reserves play. Hopefully, the new players coming in next year will have the goods.
Final: Shockers 56 - Panthers 42. Maybe not a thing of beauty to watch but the result is what counts.
I think getting to the Championship game tomorrow should be enough for the Shocks to secure an NCAA berth even if they don't win tomorrow.Last edited by 1972Shocker; March 14, 2015, 04:30 PM.

This was primarily Alex, Kelsey and Jaleesa carrying the Shocks to a win.
Alex lead the way with 18 points on 7-14 shooting and 9 rebounds. Thank goodness Kelsey (12 points on 6-10 shooting and 8 rebounds) and Jaleesa (10 points on 5-10 shooting and 5 rebounds) stepped up today or the Shocks would be going home.
Jamillah, Alie and Michaela were pretty much no shows today combining for only 16 points on 5-24 from the field. They did hit 5-6 free throws and the contributed 17 rebounds.
Jamillah looked like anything except the Valley Defensive Player of the Year. Hopefully, those three will be more on track tomorrow. Not sure the Lady Shocks can survive another performance like this.
UNI only hit 13-52 (25%) from the field and the including 3 shots that were long, hit on top of the flange at the back of the rim and then flopped in. UNI, reputed to be a strong 3 point shooting team was only 3-22 (13.6%) from behind the arc. More than a little credit for this though goes to the Shockers defense.
Shocks go for their 3rd consecutive Valley Tournament title tomorrow against he winner of the upcoming Missouri State - Evansville game. Most likely Missouri State.

Missouri State 75 - Evansville 66
Shocks and Bears meet Sunday at 2:00 pm to determine the Valley's automatic qualifier to the NCAA Tournament. I am expecting this to be a very tough game. In fact, if the Shocks don't play better tomorrow than they have so far in the tournament it could be disappointing outcome.

If a win tomorrow against Missouri State would bump our RPI up, how far up do you think it would need to go in order for Wichita State to get a 12 seed? If the Lady Shox can get a 12 seed in the tourney, that would immediately take away home court advantage in our game as we would play a 5 seed. The 4 seed hosts.LL&P _\\//

I'm ok with the T but no way was it an F2.
