#9 Loyola 67 - #8 Bradley 55 - Loyola advances to play #1 Wichita State Friday at Noon.

#7 Evansville 55 - #10 Illinois State - Evansville advances to play #2 Drake. Illinois State's season is mercifully ended at 2-28.

The Shockers current RPI is at 37. I don't think they can afford a loss to #306 Loyola and feel very confident about an at-large bid. Even if they win this game their RPI probably moves up a little.

Shocks off to a strong start leading 23-7 with 4:27 to play.

Alex has 11 points. She needs 3 more points to become the All-Time career leading scoring at Wichita State.

Shocks with a really good defensive 1st half but a pretty anemic offensive attack lead 26-13 at the half. Had a chance to put the game away leading 23-7 with 5 minutes left but only made one more FG during that span.

Alex with a good 1st half scoring 11 points on 5-8 shooting. However, the rest of the team is only 6-23 (26.1%) from he field although Alie did knock down a couple of treys.

The Shocks only shot 1 free throw in the 1st half but Loyola did not get to the line at all as the Shocks have only committed 2 fouls in the 1st half. Loyola was only called for 4 fouls.

Loyola Coach Swoops at halftime: "We have to step up and play. They aren't doing anything we haven't seen before. We have to handle their pressure better."


Coming out of halftime: Alex Harden makes jumper. Alex Harden steal. Alex Harden assist. Bonner layup. Near steal by Alex Harden thwarted by phantom timeout by Loyola.

Alex hits a baseline 15 footer to open the half to tie Allison Daniel at the top of the Shocker All-Time scoring list.

She then made a steal off the press and hit a wide open Jamillah Bonner under the basket who laid it in. However, no assist for Alex. How could they miss that.

In the past the Championship Game has been on broadcast TV.

Looked at the MVC web site and is does look to be ESPN3 only for all games.

Alex may have to get a little bit more selfish down the stretch on the offensive end and look for her shot a little more aggressively. Deferring to her teammates is not working very well right now. Alex has is 1-2 this half and one of those was a end of the clock long 3-pointer. The rest of the Shocks are 2-12 this half.

The Loyola zone is given the Shocks a lot trouble which is not uncommon. May have to move Alex into the middle of the zone.

My son is there with the pep band. He estimates about 150-200 Shocker fans. I would think that's pretty good, no?
