  • Valley WBB Post Season Tournament

The #9 seeded Drake Bulldogs pulled away from #8 seed Missouri State over the final 4 minutes for an 81-66 win. The game was close back and forth affair for 36 minutes but Drake closed out the game with a 14-2 run.

The Shocks will play Drake tomorrow at noon.

Page Not Found (404): It looks like you're lost... The page you are looking for no longer exists.

Drake knocked the Shocks out of the tournament last year in the semi-finals. Drake was the 7 seed and the Shocks were the 3 seed last year.

The Shocks defeated Drake 70-51 at home and 74-65 in Des Moines. I've been fairly impressed with the job Drake's new coach, 30-year old Jennie Baranczyk, has done this year in that she has her team playing better as the year has progressed.

I'm not expecting this to be an easy game for the Lady Shocks, however, the up and down game Drake played today might be a factor especially later in tomorrow's game with the Shocks.

Not 100% sure but Jody talked like we probably would have Jessica back for this weekend. Let's hope that's the case.

Shocks have set a lot of first's and program bests this year so they may as well add another with their 1st ever trip to the NCAA's. With an RPI of around 70 the Shocks need to win to get in.

    Go Shocks!

    Why not?

VB had their best showing ever this year, now it's WBB's turn.

The Shocks have only beaten one team (Missouri State a few years ago) 3 times in one season. Need to make twice today.

Shocks look very flat so far and certainly don't look like the best defensive team in the Valley.

Drake 9 - Shock 7 at the 1st media timeout.

Drake playing harder, better and smarter than the Shocks so far. Hopefully, the Ladies get it going soon.

Bugg playing very poorly today carrying over from a very poor game against Missouri State.

Shocks down 7-11 at the under 12 timeout. Shocks rarely play a full game of good basketball, so lets hope they are just getting rid of the bad spell early.

Drake raining 3's on the Shocks. Of course, it helps that I think everyone has been uncontested.

Hate to say it but I think the Shocker seniors may be satsified with a regular season championship. The seniors are giving us very, very little to this point. Drake, even though they played a tough game last night is bringing more energy to the floor and look like they just want it more than the Shocks at this point.

Another 3 by Drake puts the Bulldogs up 25-17 as the Shockers simply have decided not to guard the 3-point line I guess. Shocks are also gambling a lot on defense and getting little payback for the risks they are taking.

Wow. That's the first time I watched One Shining Moment........the CU love fest and the lack of WSU highlights is freaking amazing.

Shocks finally waking up a little and showing some energy. Shocks on a 10-0 run behind Michelle Price to take a 27-25 lead. Much better.

17-0 run by the Shocks. Nice.

Shocks extend the run to 17-0 and now lead by 9 at 34-25. This is almost 100% due to the burst of energy Michelle brought to the table and coincided also with Bugg going to the bench with 3 fouls forcing Jody to go with more of an offensvie oriented lineup, but one that can still D it up.

That run took about 4 minutes. Now the Shocks need to keep the pedal to the metal to close out the half.

JFC that was a pitiful end to the half. Shocks WAY over play 2 times on D giving up wide open 3s. Then they totally mismanage the last possession, giving Drake a chance at a miracle runner that has no chance to go in, but hits dead and drops, pulling the Geese within 2.

                              Effing unbelievable.
