Katie gives up a solo homer to Kory Hayden, the conference PPOY, in the 6th. No other damage done.

That breaks a string of 22 consecutive scoreless innings registered by Katie and Sloan over the last 4 games.

    Shocks 5 - Chants 1.

Katie gives up another sole homer in the 7th with 2 outs, but otherwise finishes the game of in good fashion.

    Final Score: Shocks 5 - Chants 2.

4 in a row for the Lady Shocks. I don't think that happened last year.

Shocks go to 9-8 on the season. Doesn't sound like much but if this team can finish the year around 0.500 it will be a nice step forward.

      Shockers 5-2 Coastal Carolina

Katie had a strong outing, only giving up solo homers in the sixth and seventh, to lead the Shockers to victory. She gave up six hits but only one walk to go along with six strikeouts.

The Shocks took advantage of three unearned runs in the third to jump to a lead and remained in control the rest of the game. The offense was lead by Brianne's three RBI and Layne's solo homer. She added a double as did Ali among the Shockers' nine hits.

Though this is not the strongest tournament, Katie and Sloan continue to give the Shockers a chance to win the games. With Brianne settled in at the DP slot, HCKB seems to have settled on six of the spots in the lineup with a group of six rotating through 1B, 3B and RF.

The Shocks have a chance to go undefeated in the tournament with a game against Albany at 8am our time in the morning.

Saw that big time today at HOFS as Nebraska got two hits in the game but beat No. 1 OU 1-0. You have to come to play every game.

            Shockers v Albany

Sloan in the circle, Laura at third, Erin at first, Kaitlyn in right.

Off to church - back much later.

Shocks gave up a 6-3 lead as Albany plated 4 in the bottom of 6th for a 7-6 win. Tough end to a solid weekend.

It would have been nice for the ladies to get a trophy.

Too bad. That is a tough way to lose.

Shocks must now play the best ball of their lives to avoid a 6-game L streak as they have No. 1 OU for two, then the team which handed OU their only loss for three this week. My belief is the Shocks will rise to the level of their competition and play the same type of ball they played against Alabama. Hope I'm right, but that Gibbs rule 51 bites me sometimes.
