Shocks with a 9-8 lead at the midway point of the 1st quarter. DJ picks up a T for what Steve Strain described as "taking a swipe" at a Houston player. DJ already had a personal foul so the T is her 2nd foul and she will probably be on the bench for the rest of the half. While that is HCKA's normal procedure she did keep Jane in the play-in game against Temple with 2 fouls in the 1st half and that backfired as Jane did pick up her 3rd before halftime. Jane ended up fouling out of that game. Shocks will need some good minutes from Nhug although I don't think Houston is a good match up for Nhug.

I don't watch a lot of women's basketball but I watched the game yesterday and so far today. Houston seems like a far, far superior team to South Florida. Way more athletic, tough pressure defense and better shot makers. Shockers definitely have their hands full

NBD looked pretty good when she went in. Created quite a few good angles while beating the Houston press. WSU got a little sloppy at times and had a few careless turnovers and Houston pounced finishing the quarter on a 10-3 run for a 24-17 lead.

Shox are still very much in this. Need to clean some things up. Houston has hit a few tough shots that have helped.

            It's pretty empty

More Shocker fans today than on Monday when I was here.

Houston may outnumber us slightly, but not by much

I am basically in a section with my wife and no one else lol. But wanted to sit close to the Cheerleaders since my daughter is on the sideline today.

I count about 20 - 30 Shocker fans. Maybe 40 or so Houston fans.

Houston leads 23-17 at the end of the 1st quarter. Houston guard Laila Blair with 11 points. Houston like to get you sped up and that may be happening although I am not watching. But Houstons frenetic style is not what a team playing their 3rd game in 3 days need. The Shocks, a good free throw shooting team, were only 2-5 from the line. Hope that's not a sign that the legs are already getting a bit rubbery.

Closed the gap to 2, but then gave up a baseline jumper and an atomic bomb.

7 turnovers to the Cougars' 3.

HCKA does reinsert DJ with about 3 minutes to play and she promptly picks up her 3rd foul on what sounds like may have been a questionable call.

Houston has 5 players with 2 fouls. Four of those are starters. Shox need to remain aggressive and see if they can take advantage of that in the 2nd half.

Given the turnovers (6 from Jane), missed FTs, and McCarty's foul problems, it could definitely be worse.

Yeah, Shox definitely in this. Needs to keep their composure and stay aggressive. If they can get a couple quick 3rd fouls to a couple of their players that would be nice.

Spot on. 20 turnovers against Houston is their season average. But going 4-9 and DJ's foul trouble definitely hurt. Big mistake by HCKA putting DJ back in. I would have thought she learned her lesson after the Temple game. Good chance that DJ will not start the 2nd half now with her 3 fouls.

Hated to see Trajata pick up her 2nd foul in the final minute.

Trajata and Sham both had a very good 1st half.

Wow. Jane has a chance for a triple double in this game. Points, rebounds and assists. Jane is already at 9 assists.
