Good find. I made a very cursory attempt to find such, but did not spend much time on it at all.

Among the Iowa Division II Juco's this pitcher has good numbers, although again I can't say how much difference there is in quality of competition between Division I and Division II (Hovpen might have some input on that):

Catherine Flaucher - Kirkwood CC - Division II

0.65 WHIP, 232K/19BB in 145.2 innings, an opponents BA somewhere around 0.150 and an ERA of 0.721

I have the understanding that Butler CC, who plays Division I, does not offer full-rides, but plays at that level for recruiting purposes, selling the idea to recruits of better exposure for future NCAA D-I scholarships.
Thanks @flyingMoose:. Ashley Bright played at Cowley County which is listed as Division II, although I do not know if that was the case when Ashley played there.

Cowley was D-2 when Ashley was there.

Hum, try Lake Land, ILL on that JUCO pitcher. They are D-1

              Now that does look interesting.

Tanna Hinthorne is a sophomore with very good numbers. I'm assuming this is who HCKB would be after. Hinthorne was an NJCAA Division I All-American as a freshman.

The other two are freshman. Both with good numbers. One of the freshman, Kelsie Stoszkus, is listed at 6'6". Not that her height necessarily means anything but you don't see those every day. Her numbers are the least impressive but kind of makes you wonder what her upside is.

              Some video of Hinthorne:

Here are a couple of articles that mentions Hinthorne is heading to Wichita State:

              Looks like an excellent get.

Thanks for the heads up @Hovpen.

I should have had that one earlier but since I'm gettin so darn old I could only remember that there was a lake somewhere in the name.

What's your take on this young lady? From my less than expert viewpoint looks like a very solid get by the new staff.

Haven't seen her in person so will not comment. However, at this point in time, I trust HCKB's judgement...on most things :)

Congrats to Rachel and Sydney for their selection to the All-MVC 2nd team.
Sophomore Rachel Milnark and freshman Sydney Stuever were named to the 2012 MVC Softball All-Conference Second Team Wednesday.

Does anyone know if Sydney will have surgery on her shoulder or what she needs to do to rehab the bad shoulder?

Yes, congratulations! And being a stat-head, I would claim Erin was our best hitter, but so it goes. Perhaps not enough of the right kind of spots on the All-Valley teams, perhaps some other circumstance.

I'm guessing you are looking at the OPS in making that conclusion?

                            Which is certainly not unreasonable.

Yes. And if Hayley can return to form her senior year and Sammie can have a good year ... . Danika came on strong during conference play. Like you said, can they all keep improving and can we get something going in the circle.

HCKB officially announces her recruiting class:

Head Coach Kristi Bredbenner has announced her 2012 recruiting class. The four-player class is made up of one junior college transfer and three incoming freshman.

Doesn't sound like she plans on other additions. But I guess you can never say never. Final signing date is August 1st.
