Game Two

Shockers v Boise State

The First Five are followed by Sami, Camryn, Lainee, and Bailey. Alex is in the circle. Taylor Caudill, the #2 for the Broncos, is their starter.

Sydney starts the game with a walk. After two strikeouts, she steals second but is stranded after another K. A one-out walk and a two-out double gets the Broncos on the board. 0-1 after one.

Sami is hit by a pitch with one out in the second, but no one can advance her. Back-to-back walks but no runs for Boise State in their second. Still 0-1.

Sydney hits a one-out triple in the third, but Addison lines out and Lauren grounds out. The Broncos are up and down in order. 0-1 after three. Only one hit for each team to this point.

In the fourth, Lolo singles for a second Shocker hit but Siera Hoekstra, her designated pinch-runner, does not advance.

With one out in the bottom of the fourth, the Broncos homer, single, and are hit by a pitch. Alison takes over for Alex. A single scores another run, but the bases were left loaded. 0-3 after four complete.

A walk but nothing more in the fifth for the Shocks. In the bottom half with one out, single, double for a run and a walk - relief may not be Alison's forte. A DP gets the Shockers out of the inning. 0-4 after five.

In the sixth with two outs, the Shocks load the bases on an error, double by Sami and walk to Taylor who pinch-hit, but Lainee fans to end the threat.

In the Boise State sixth, walk, wild pitch, walk, and a double to score a run. Kenzie Schopfer is on in relief of Alison with one out. A three-run homer by her first batter follows, and we have a runs-ahead game.

Seven hits on the day! Ack!! For the season, only Syd, Lolo, and Lauren are north of .300. I don't think any of us expected that.

Every now and then you have a pitcherf who just shuts down your offense and you just have to tip your hat to them.

If it was just today that would be one thing. But only 4 total runs over the last 3 games is a trend that needs to change for sure,

A one-out single but nothing more for FDU in the first. Alex ends the inning with a K.

Sydney opens the game for the Shocks with a hit - so what else is new. This one is a triple. Addison singles to third (Syd does not score) and steals second. Lauren does score Sydney with a sac fly. During Zoe's AB, Addison advances to third on a wild pitch and scores on a throwing error by the catcher. 2-0 Shockers after one.

Another K for Alex in the second, but nothing else of note. 2-0 after two.

Another K in the third in a three-up, three-down inning for the Knights.
