Anyone solve the mystery of why we played so many fewer games than most other teams? I understand we may have lost some to weather, but it still seems to be a gap.

Didn't we lose a few early spring games to weather? A recall a couple of games with Arkansas and Minnesota being cancelled or postponed.

Those were the only 2 games lost to weather this season. The Shocks had 49 games schedule and played 47. That is 7 games short of a full 56 game schedule with 2 rainouts.

Exactly why that is the case I don't know. Was it a choice or just a matter of not finding early season tournaments with enough games to fill out a full schedule or something else?

Houston got a 2-run home run in the top of the 6th to tie the game at 2-2. With 1 out in the 6th Houston got an infield single for their first hit of the game. The home run came with 2 outs.

In the bottom of the 7th Houston got the first to UCD batters on ground outs. But back-to-back singles from the #1 and #2 hitters in the lineup and an intentional walk to Jada Cody loaded the basis but but Shannon Doherty struck out and so the teams head to extra innings.

UCF wins 4-2 with a 2-run walk off home run in the bottom of the 8th.

That is typically how you play slappers but if they get one past the outfielders you're in trouble. Johns has great speed. She has stolen 57 bases in 59 attempts this year. .

A 2-out single to center by Lauren Lucas followed by a double from Zoe Jones ties it up at 1-all.

I think this was significant for the Shocks to respond this quickly.
