Don't you mean a whole herd of horses?

As they say, "Stick a fork in it. It is done!"

          Incorrect.

Last night was an exhibition game. Just as we have done in the past, all players can play in the exhibition regardless if they are redshirting that season or not.

This is somewhat common knowledge. I'm surprised it's being debated on this forum right now.
It is being debated only because people like you are wrong.

I was incorrect about redshirts playing in exhibition games in a story earlier this week. Only first-year players (freshmen and juco transfers) can play in scrimmages and exhibitions without burning a redshirt year. Returners, such as Aaron Ellis, cannot. I asked, but I didn’t do a good job clarifying my question. I also didn’t ask the right person. WSU associate athletic director Korey Torgerson set me straight. Here’s the rule: During a student-athlete’s initial year of enrollment at the certifying institution, he or she may compete in preseason exhibition contests and preseason practice scrimmages (as permitted in the particular sport per Bylaw 17) without counting such competition as a season of competition. An alert reader alerted me to my mistake, so thanks. With the injuries to Blair and Jerome Hamilton, Ellis’ status probably became a moot point. He played and, barring something unexpected, won’t redshirt.

Ah. I retract my statement, then.
The truth will set you free. But first, it will piss you off.

I would rather revel in the fact we signed another JUCO All-American quality player, rather than debating on whether to RS Ellis. As I have said all along, redshirting Aaron Ellis is a BAD idea...period. You can't slice any of it that makes it almost a good idea. Ellis is as fantastic a young man as there is on this team this year or any year previous, but come on...redshirting a would be senior with very limited offensive skills, at best, doesn't make logical sense.

This program is on the rise, as long as HCGM is here, and therefore needs a better talent at PF next year than AE. If this coaching staff couldn't find Carl Hall, then they would have found another Carl Hall-type. We have to change our talent expectations. This coaching staff is obviously doing a great job at this point in turning over the right stones and rocks to find quality talent that will continue to solidify WSU as maybe the next Gonzaga or Butler. We have more of a fighting chance of attaining this with signing the Carl Hall's of the college basketball world rather than settling for a 5th year senior with little additional upside than what we have already seen. Let me end this rant by saying I'm not down on Aaron Ellis...he is what he is, which is a serviceable player with a ceiling that has pretty much been reached.

Sounds like Northwest Florida State College should continue to be on the WSU radar.

I think we should debate if he can redshirt or not in about 4 or 5 more different threads

The horse CANNOT redshirt, it's DEAD.

A physician called into a radio show and said:

I expect we will redshirt Carl Hall both the next two seasons.

NJCAA still has the video archive up from Hutch if you want to see Carl play. He was with Middle Georgia

“The rebellion on the populist right against the results of the 2020 election was partly a cynical, knowing effort by political operators and their hype men in the media to steal an election or at least get rich trying. But it was also the tragic consequence of the informational malnourishment so badly afflicting the nation. ... Americans gorge themselves daily on empty informational calories, indulging their sugar fixes of self-affirming half-truths and even outright lies.'

                              Redshirt

No great surprise here, and I'm delighted with the outcome.

If you pay attention to big-time football -- like our poster small tyme, I happen to root for Alabama, which is about as big-time as it gets in college football, in terms of both the school itself and its conference affiliation -- and read about recruiting, you know that sometimes commitments are reported that didn't really happen, as apparently was the case here (and also that sometimes those that actually are made can be pretty ephemeral).

One thing to note, though: if Hall really weighs 215, he'll have some work ahead of him with Rosenboom once he arrives. Maybe he can bulk up while he's redshirting next year.

He keeps losing weight. I believe he started at 225 and now he's down to 215?
