When we get to the point we start bringing in some players like Noel, we will know we are back with the elite on more consistant basis. I remember watching some of our recruits play in the McDonalds All Star Game on the tube. It seems like Aubury Sherrod was Co-MVP with a dude by the name of Michael Jordan.
After the probation back then, Gene Smithson teams thereafter begin to stuggle at the end of his tenure. Then Eddie Fogler came in here with the mind-set that WSU was not suppose to bring in the elite palyers because they were for the teams like North Carolina. Then ESPN started televising big games and the rich got richer.
Coach T. put us back on the map in some ingenuous ways. He landed some solid recruits along with some transfers that he meshed well together. We hit a "hot-streak" and went 9-0 with some big televised wins. Now the baton has been handed to CGM. Marshall Gregg has a work ethic among the best of the best. He is a proven winner. He surrounded himself with quality Coaches. He is even looking Overseas and wherever to get us some quality players in here. He teaches some serious defense which will result in some wins. I look for CGM to "raise the Shocker bar" in due time.
He had a couple NBA potential players at Winthrop. Look for the same to happen here. If it is not Noel, he will find us some players. He does not seem to have the "large school mentality" that would not allow him to think we can get some awesome players in here.Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

I hope that there is just something there that let's Noel hang on to visiting WSU. He would step in immediately. If he brought his friends, they would too. I just hope, like I've seen posted before, that he doesn't get the notion that it would be following in his dad's footsteps, thus not wanting to do it.
Landing a kid like Noel could do wonders for our program, and the possibilities would be endless after that.

Persistence, confidence, hard work, passion for the game, charisma, and surrounding yourself with a quality Staff explains why Marshall Gregg can 'close the deal' as referred to in the P.S. article today. My same perception of these similar qualities were expressed earlier in the week in my post listed above. But wait just a minute. We have had some existing players and Coach T recruits that chose to leave. But hark---setbacks to a proven winner with the above qualities, just takes him right back to the drawing board. But the Mo Valley is much tougher than the Big South is it not? Bring it baby, because in due time, GM will have his groove on!!!!!!!
Get some players in here that want to be Shockers and believe in Our Program, and Our Coaching Staff. I respect a Coach who is willing to go into the land of "the jolly king(green) giants" with full confidence that he can bring some recruits in here that would make even the "Bigger Programs" lick their chops to have.
C.G.M. has not been polluted with the impression that only The Big Programs should get the marquee players. Otherwise, how would have tiny Winthrop been able to compete so well as they did this last year versus North Carolina and still again make the Dance as usual. He had a couple players with some NBA talent, surrounded by some role players and had mighty N.C. on the ropes.
So again I say, look for some "su--weetness recruiting" to occur here at 21st and Hillside both now and in the near future. If it is not Noel, it may be another young man from downtown Mongolia or Ten-buck-2 that that CGM and his quality Staff will locate and "seal the deal."Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

TY SG22 for in interesting article. That's what happens when the Big Dawgs come out to play. It would be fun like Christmas every day if NOEL came here with some buddies to become Shockers. On his visit, I'm sure we could find some old highlight tapes of his Dad playing here.Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.
