The X-Man had a hand in this? Who knows, but he came here and that was a surprise to many. John Smith did not even have prior Shocker blood-lines pumping in his veins like Noel? Therefore, it reminds me of the eternal optimist who jumped off the high rise building. Halfway down he was heard proclaiming these words----"So far, so good." It's never over until it is over. Noel has yet to sign, so who knows? Even so, it is a very long shot and even I know that.

In my opinion, Noel's stock will even rise higher to the point the North Carolina's and Duke's of the world will be watching closely as well. The great news is, WSU basketball is coming back in a big way no matter what. I can feel it in my ole bones. There are so many good players out there and I am really liking the recruits that HCGM is already bringing in here. He is not afraid to recruit awesome players, just because the inner circle says we are not good enough. Now THAT is an attitude that rocks and makes progress.
Would we have to sign a Boo Craft again to get him?
“The rebellion on the populist right against the results of the 2020 election was partly a cynical, knowing effort by political operators and their hype men in the media to steal an election or at least get rich trying. But it was also the tragic consequence of the informational malnourishment so badly afflicting the nation. ... Americans gorge themselves daily on empty informational calories, indulging their sugar fixes of self-affirming half-truths and even outright lies.'

    • When I mention Bookend, I am not wishing for another Boo but rather some Good News Cliff Levingston type player. Now THAT would rock.
Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

      • I am guessing that Noel is not looking for a rebuilding program. If there would be any chance to get him here GS and EO need to show by the end of 2008-2009 season that he is the missing piece to a deep run in the NCAA the next couple of years.

        • SK,

I have to disagree a little bit. Curry showed that one person can carry a team deep in the NCAA's, and Manning showed that with quality role players around that person they can go all the way.

Hannah and Chamberlain are very smart, unselfish players. Stutz has a high BB IQ also, Murry can make from outside, Kyles can get to the hole, AJ can take his man and finish in traffic. Combine that EO's defensive presence, and JT's ability to almost score at will on the offensive end, and you have a great cast waiting for a superstar.

That being said, I think it will take something more to get "Cheddar" to WSU, and no, I'm not talking about a green duffel bag or a tractor, or Lexus for that matter.

          • The trend for top HS players seems to be signing in the fall.

WSU may never get a chance to show Noel the promise we all hope is there.

            • Key to getting Cheddar interested:

Keep the recruiting heat turned on high, and have a good year in the meantime.

But like Royal mentioned, the good year might come a little too late.

              • I think just getting him on campus at some point could do wonders. A chance to be with and play some pick up ball with the team. He could see first hand what kind of talent has been brought in and how he could make them better and they could make him better.

At least in my mind it could work. We've all known that landing Noel would be difficult. But it's definitely worth the effort as he's the type of player that if he came here could change the atmosphere around WSU. Until he makes his decision official, there's hope.

I think today proves that our coaching staff isn't afraid of extra effort.

                    • FSF is with Sub on this. Get Noel here and maybe even a top-notch buddy of his from his summer team. Coach Marshall is a great salesman and a convincing motivater. Then he can see that we have some players here that are for real. Then we can show him some highlights of former stars here that played in the NBA such as Cheese, Carr, X, Stallworth, Maurice Evans, etc. Playing at WSU did not stop these players from the NBA. Next, get him to a game because they are all sold out and it will be rockin this coming Season.

We might only have a remote chance, but he would see we are going to be Dancing in the near future and nothing and nobody can stop us!!!!!!! It would be great to have him aboard and Coach Marshall will never be intimidated to go after the best of the best.

                              • I don't know where Lynbert calls home these days but I am sure he would like to be able to watch as many of Noel's games as possible. I know he was back in Wichita for an Alumni event as a speaker in 2004 so I believe his ties to WSU are still strong.
