  • My feeling is that if he is rated real high, with offers from a lot of big boys, that he will go with one of them, but if he is rated just medium, then the Shocker heartstrings may have some influence on him.

    • Thus far he is rated very high. If he signs with a super-elite program he will be playing in the McDonald's AA game. There is a chance that he could slip from say #30 to #60 and that MIGHT give the Shocks a chance.

      • Here is my take on this important next year or two of recruiting. This new Coaching Staff will "raise the bar" and continue to build on this first impressive group of recruits that came together like a whirlwind. No matter if they bring in more 7'0' players from Nigeria, transfers, Juco players, or 3-5 star High School players, they will take the baton from Coach Turgeon and take our Program to new heights and raise to bar to a higher level.

My sentimental memories of the past make Noel a preference because of what his Dad accomplished as a Shocker. I will be a fan of Noel along with most of you, no matter what he decides. The Shockers will be getting better with or without him in my opinion. However, what excitement Noel could bring to Shockerville. WOW!!!

If we could just get a visit from Noel, get the dynamic salesmen JS and Coach GM doing their best smooth sales pitch, crank up some video highlight reels of Cheese, Armstrong, Stallworth, Carr, X, and Good News Cliff, show him some clips of our Sweet 16 highlights, highlights from big wins last year over the Cuse at the Dome, LSU on Big Baby's turf, MB draining the 3's versus Creighton, and then take him to visit K.R. who is one of the best trainers on Planet Earth, tell him of our new visions that he could be a huge part of, tell him he can bring his favorite bookend buddy with him----who knows??? Stranger things have happened. We need a visit from this young man and let the mystique of Shocker Hoops do the rest. Shocker Basketball is already pumping in his veins, and once he arrives, it could become contagious. Now THAT is what I'm talkin about!!! :wsu_posters: :wsu_posters: :wsu_posters: :wsu_posters: :wsu_posters: :wsu_posters: :wsu_posters:

Forever, I love your enthusiasm... it's a breath of fresh air. You're obviously an optimist/half-glass-full kind of guy. Sometimes dreams come true.

I'm reminded of a great Jim Carey line in the movie Dumb and Dumber:

"Lloyd: What are the chances of a guy like you and a girl like me... ending up together?
Mary: Well, that's pretty difficult to say.
Lloyd: Hit me with it! I've come a long way to see you, Mary. The least you can do is level with me. What are my chances?
          Mary: Not good.
Lloyd: You mean, not good like one out of a hundred?
Mary: I'd say more like one out of a million.
          [pause]
Lloyd: So you're telling me there's a chance."

          :good:

                  • Here's the deal. I concur with RRShock on this matter. These young men can be our modern day Bookends. As I relish that notion, I thought of a prediction Cliff "Good News" Levingston once made as a player on the tube----"All the way to the NC2A." Later that Season after he made that statement, we sunk Iowa here in one of the loudest games in Wichita State history, and then we slam-dunked KU at the Battle of New Orleans at the Dance.

                      • Johnson had a pretty good summer and has a lot of schools showing interest. All schools are still pretty much in the running and he hasn't eliminated anyone.
