The description of his game, and his size, reminds me of a quicker version of CC McFall. And that's not a bad thing, IMO.

If you're interested in additional info and profile of Carter, marcus aurelius did a nice post on the Carter vs Smith thread.

I posted this in Pauls chat thread, but Paul said Marquise almost committed in the fall

              [Comment From Wushock Wushock: ]
Paul, from what you know, percentage wise, what are the chances that Marquise Carter is a Shocker next season?

I'll say 60 percent (and I'd say 70 if I weren't cautious in recruiting stuff). I think he was close to committing in the fall. Unless something changes, it seems to be a good fit. Things do change, so I'm sure WSU has other options.

didnt see this posted, but these ranking were last updated before the season started. Carter is 26th in the Juco top 150

Not favoring one over the other, but I also noticed that Tony Smith was ranked 38. They have him listed as a forward, but he is playing PG for Seward. I think either would be a good get for the Shox.

                    re:

The widely held belief in the Basketball Dept is that Carter would have signed with WSU in the fall but the Three Rivers coach does not like his players committing early because he feels it somehow diminishes his guys' play during the course of the season (not sure I understand that.)

Of course, the EO situation is a bit different since EO was sent there by WSU in the first place.

You would think its the other way around, that the athletic wouldn't have a lot pressure on his shoulders to try and impress D-1 schools.

Carter with 25 pts in Saturday night's win.
                          13-15 from the line.

Not only does he make a high %, but he gets to the line a lot. I think he's close to 8 attempts a game which is twice anybody on the Shox. Of course, we're comparing DI to Juco ball here.

26 - 28 from the line in the last 2 games. He's only taken 11 shots in those 2 games, so it shows that he's driving and drawing the fouls constantly.

Marquise Carter - "Sometime I wonder why coaches schedule games against trash teams. I hate playing in games like we just did. Won by 50."
