Coy visiting Monday

Coy would be a great pickup but I trust HCGM's recruiting ability. If Johnny Coy wants to be a Shocker, then we welcome him with open arms. If he wants to play coy with us and go elsewhere, then we wish him well (& root for him except against the Shocks) and wait to see what nice new surprise GM has for us.

I have no doubt Marshall will find someone great for the spot we NEED filled. But Coy is at the very top of my wish list!!!! He's the wing we've all been wanting for some time now. He's got a good head on his shoulders and you can't help but to like him. I'll be very disappointed if he goes somewhere else but will wish him nothing but the best and a lot of success as long as it doesn't come at our expense.

I do think we have A LOT to offer him in both sports. I don't follow baseball near as closely as basketball but I think what we have is really hard to beat. Then when you mix in the facilities at both.....

We've had some decent players from up there. But I'd like to see a bit more consistency in landing some from up there. We currently have 2 I believe in Stutz and Chamberlain. But there's a lot of talent up there. I'd love for Coy to be #3. And I know we have our eye on a few more in the next few classes.

I agree that he would be wonderful. My point is that he will disappoint someone - WSU or Drake or UMKC or ... - and we will survive and improve no matter what. I want JC to pick WSU but it is his choice. Could he do better than Gene, Brent and JT? Probably not. Could he have a huge impact on Shocker basketball? Yes; imagine Garrett Stutz, Johnny Coy, Kenny Manigault, Toure' Murry, etc. playing together in 2010-11 and 2011-12. Add in EO and we might think about a Final Four.

lets take this one step at a time.... in 2010-2011 and 2011-2012 i would be happy if we were valley champs. The final four is pretty unrealistic at this point in time.

We have FR talking about taking this team to the Final Four. I love their confidence and when we surround them with players like Ehimen, KJ, Jerome and hopefully Johnny as well as others to follow I like what I see.

The talent level and athletic ability are going way up. This program is poised to start shooting up and I believe it will play out on the national level. Will we get to the Final Four? Who the hell knows. Most teams don't make it and that includes teams that are expected to be there. As we continue to improve and recruit I'm not going to count it out.

Low expectations are for Creighton fans who are just happy to be there. I hope we never fall into that way of thinking. It's not good enough just to get there. That's for small time programs to settle for.
