Perry Ellis- Decision to KU

Oh well
Disappointing, although it does solve a numbers problem for WSU (not that it would have been the worst problem to have).
Still, there's every reason to be excited about who the Shocks do have for next year, both on the current roster and in terms of commitments. Meanwhile, I wish Perry and his family well (although not his future team, especially if they happen to get stuck playing WSU).
And I'll try not to say, "See, I told you so," when he and his future teammates suffer an early round NCAA defeat against a school "at this level" -- maybe even the Shocks he could have been playing with.

I thought it sounded fine. If you had 10000+ fans breathing down your neck and heavy expectations to be the one of the greatest and you were announcing that you were leaving to ball with the school that is not in your home town, wouldn't you say um a couple times? Anyone knocking Perry needs to go put on their big boy pants and deal with it. I am as disappointed with this as i would have been in fvv or ce verbaled to Ku, but I'm not mad nor shall I lose any sleep over it. He made his decision, and its his dream. Personally, he would have been a fool to commit to Wichita State just to make us happy. This crap coming from certain posters is exactly what i was expecting from the beaker boys had today gone as we hoped. Someone please lock this thread to prevent further contamination and embarrassment to our beloved school.People who think they know everything are a great annoyance to those of us who do. -Isaac Asimov

There are very few 17 year old guys who are great public speakers. There are very few people who have been under a microscope by 100 colleges for 4 years who are well-spoken when they reject 99 out of 100 of those schools.
I approached the announcement with the attitude I was listening to a 4.0 HS student who was 17. I came out of it with the attitude that I had just listened to a young man who was uncomfortable telling 3 schools they didn't win.
I thought Perry was comfortable telling KU that he was going there, but - at the same time - was really uncomfortable with the fact he was rejecting the other 3. I think that affected how he said things nd the comfort level he had.
For a young man's first-ever press conference, I had no problems with what he said, how he said it, or the language he used. I saw nothing that indicates he's not a great student. I don't think he's a great orator, but Perry didn't have 100 schools going after him to be on their debate teams. The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

Based on PE's quiet and laid back demeanor and Mom's obvious love of the notoriety and mugging for the camera, I'm not sure which one signed on the dotted line for KU.
I guess we'll find out who emerges from the huddle when KU announces their starting line up next year. 8)Above all, make the right call.

I felt like I needed to voice my opinion on Seth Davis tweeting Perry's decision minutes before the press conference, and also discus a little bit about how recruit ranking services are biased, with proof from Jeff ******* tweets.
