The foreigners are very difficult to get here though.

When was the last good foreign post player to actually wear a Shocker uni? (Sasha Mijalovic doesn't count)

I guess my apparently too subtle point is that country of origin really doesn't matter. It's all about talent evaluation.

Martina was here 1 1/2 years. Bart wasn't here a full year.

        What position did Radunovich play?

When was the last time we signed a center, or anybody else who was getting serious attention from Kentucky?

Zarko Dursic was a true center at 6-10
            Sasha Radunovich was a PF/C at 6-9

            Both were very good...

There doesn't appear to be much interest by Marquette. Marquette canceled their home visit and Garrett has never talked to Coach Crean. Although Garrett is interested in them, doesn't look like that will be his college home. His SMU visit is this weekend. Still no offer from Kentucky but they say they want him. It's probably between SMU and us unless Stutz's wants to walk on or perhaps changes his mind and waits to sign in the Spring. Expect a decision in a couple of weeks.

He's been to WSU two times on unofficial visits, I believe only one had been reported. We are prepared to arrange an official within short notice if needed.

If UK doesn't offer, it does look like a WSU vs. SMU battle. And as far as rosters go, we may have an edge.

                    Next year, SMU will have:

                    - 7'1" SR C, Bamba Fall (7ppg as a SO)
                    - 7'1" 250 lb. SO C, Tomasz Kwiatkowski (also offered a scholarship by Baylor, UNLV, Rhode Island, Virginia and Valpo.)
                    - 6'9" SO PF, Papa Dia (also offerred by Louisville, Oklahoma and Manhattan)

SMU was also senior-heavy last year, meaning they have a ton of freshman this year (the two mentioned above, plus five others).

It looks to me like he'll have more competition for playing time at SMU than WSU.

this may be our guy. i think he could do very well here - sharing the rock of coursei with orupke. - - bookends, of sorts.

Well, at least you can't say that Orukpe would hurt our chances, looking at SMU's lineup, definitely a much better chance to step in and get a lot of minutes quickly.

I think it's a good match for both WSU and Stutz.

Seems like it is a good fit........He wants playing time.......We need a big man........it's not too far from home for him.......WSU seems like the obvious choice

                              Moshock

Well, how far up on the food chain is SMU? Wouldn't he get more exposure and playing time here than SMU? I really don't know anything much about SMU basketball.

I read that Garrett has a 7'2" wingspan, and that he could end up an inch or 2 above 7'. At 225 lbs, Kerry would need to work on him some, but would be a good 4 year player.

Plus the fact that we have sellout crowds, a great new winning record coach, and we are much closer to his home, which would mean his family could probably watch him play much more often, and that TV games would be more available for his family.
