Poor guy had to ride a bus........

Eliminated Iowa State and SWOMO from his list and hopes to get it down to 4 or 5 in the next 3 weeks or so.

Stutz's "final" four are Kentucky, Wichita State, SMU and Marquette with Kentucky the current front runner. He will probably be signing in the early period.

Pretty good news. We just need Kentucky to get a commitment from a center before Stutz commits.

I am concerned about Marquette. When Frank Ben-Eze committed to Harvard, it leaves a spot for a center to play right away. With Orukpe coming in and Durley just a freshman, I hope Stutz doesn't assume there won't be ample playing time. A rotation of Orukpe, Stutz and Durley (plus Clemente for a year), would be awesome.

But Stutz might also see the benefit to playing with another big. If both can be on the court at the same time, it could really benefit him. And what are the odds that Kentucky doesn't have another big boy lined up?

They do have 2 big men already and are recruiting 2 other centers this year that are more highly thought of than Stutts (Ralph Sampson & Steve Goins).

They have offers out to Sampson and 6'9" Chris Singleton. According to Scout, they have not offered Stutz. A few UK fan comments were very tepid. They see him as option 3 and don't feel he has much upside.

Garrett, schedule that official visit to WSU!

They are also recruiting J'mison Morgan, so that makes 3 centers that UK might sign instead of Stutz

And Marquette has an offer out to 6'10" Maurice Sutton, a 3-star center, considered a project and redshirt candidate by MU fans. They seem to view Stutz similarly.

According to Scout, MU has not offerred Stutz a scholarship.

So WSU would let him come in and play, most likely without the RS. That has to make WSU look more attractive. Plus they haven't offered (at least that I can see) anyone a scholarship near his height except for him. WSU would fit well, and I hope this happens soon.

I would rather sign a Nigerian center or foreign player of some sort

Don't forget, Mahnord Martina, Bart Westgeest and Duke Tschomba were "foreign players of some sort"!

So be careful what you ask for!

(Yes, I know the aforementioned players were Smithson/Turgeon recruits.)

I was thinking that too. Bart was gone about 2 weeks into the season, wasn't he?

No, I think he played all year. He was the better of the two (Martina), but left after his freshman year, IIRC. Then I think Martina left when Turgeon arrived.

Or did all of that happen in the same year?

I also remember Sasha and Zarko and then I remember Ryan Bradley, Phil Mendelson, Tom Kosich, John Felter and another big one that Fogler signed dont remember his name. So it works both ways. I will still take my chances with the foreigners over a 7-0 white boy who played on a small christian church school last year. I may be wrong and then I will eat my words
