  • Chance Moore 6'7 G/F 2018 a Shocker!

    This is an interesting offer....

Wichita State has offered 6'6 (or 6'9) Chance Moore out of Louisville, Kentucky. Chance graduated from high school, but is taking a prep year at Beckley Prep in West Virginia. He has earned offers from Butler, Virginia Tech and Dayton just this week. Other offers include New Meixco, Cleveland State, Ball State, Youngstown State and Appalachian State. Chance recently took official visits to Butler and Xavier last week. Every recruiting site lists Chance as 6'5 or 6'6, but his Twitter states that he is a 6'9 combo guard. I wonder if we are recruiting this kid as a potential small forward, or as a guard?

In the last of the highlight videos he looks like he could be more than 6'5" or 6'6".

Verbal Commits lists him at 6'9 too. Whatever, he's tall enough to be a wing forward.

Taking an official visit on Tuesday per Twitter! This kid seems like a real talent.

He looks comfortable scoring the ball any number of ways. None of the highlights showed a defensive play.

I wonder why he isn’t ranked higher.

Maybe at 6'5 no one thought his skills were special. Therefore, his prep year. Then he grew and at 6'9 his guard type skills became more unique?

Anfernee Hardaway type unique? Penny was a really big guard. If the kid is say even 6'7", that leaves alot of options for use at different positions and matchup nightmares for other teams.

I know he was planning to commit to Cleveland State and then decided to take a prep year. He's blown up this month. He's probably 6'7 or 6'8 and could play the off-ball guard or small forward.

Quick turnaround on an offer/visit. Let's get this kid signed (verbally) this week.

He had interest from Michigan and Butler before his prep year. He played 3 years at Eastern high school before transferring to Fern Creek for his Senior year. That team was fairly loaded with talent, so it's possible he got lost in the shuffle...

Also possible he grew 2 or 3 inches this summer and is just a late bloomer. Sometimes the most mature kids in high school don't turn out to be the best college players. That is why we are fortunate to have GM who has a great eye for talent and doesn't need stars to know it when he sees it.

Clearly an up and comer with the offers starting to come in to back up this claim. Might find a sleeper in this young man even though I feel very good about others that we have been recruiting. If he is 6'7 to 6'9 he is a very unique prospect. Just looking for the young men that desire to be great Shockers.
P.S. if he is 6'5 he is still a wonderful prospect.

Seems like an interesting prospect. If 3G likes him, I like him. Not sure I am buying the 6-9 though.

Here is a phote of Chance with a Butler HC Lavall Jordan who is 6-2.
