Wondering why he started and played only 14 minutes. He had only one foul. Hope he isn't injured.

Remember when Nancy Pelosi said about Obamacare:
"We have to pass it, to find out what's in it".

A physician called into a radio show and said:
"That's the definition of a stool sample."

Sign him up too. We had way too many of our shots blocked these last few days, and rarely blocked theirs.

Let's hope Midtgaard isn't the Wally Pipp of Denmark -- he needs playing time.

                • After watching the Shocker's performances against Louisville and Michigan State, I am even more convinced of the importance AM will bring to the Shocker team next season. Given the current Shocker lineup, AM fills the void that IMO exists at the 5 position. I hope he gives the Shockers 25 minutes a game next year; leaving Rauno and SM to fight over the remaining 15 minutes.

                  • Anyone expecting or hoping AM averages 25 minutes a game in his freshman year should temper their enthusiasm a little and remember that despite his age and physical gifts, the guy will be a freshman learning HCGM's system. FVV didn't steal the show from Malcolm, and even Austin Reaves is behind CF and DS on the depth chart.

In 2017, let's hope he provides the team with quality minutes while Shaq and Nurger rest up on the bench. However, in 2018, after a year learning the system and how to play big time NCAA ball, I expect him to enforce his will in the paint and be the piece this program has been missing for awhile. The Austin/Landry/Markis/Asbjorn show will be a fun one to watch.

IMO learning and playing Center for the Shockers under HC3G is a little bit easier task than learning and playing point guard. AM is not coming to WSU from a high school or a prep school, check out the Swedish basketball league in which he is currently playing.

I do agree a Shocker lineup AM's sophomore year that includes AR, LS, CJ and MM will be fun to watch and cheer!

You have a lot of confidence in that group if you're only going to play four against five:)

Of the guys currently on the roster, it would be either Hamilton or Keyser joining those 4. Right now, it seems things might be swinging towards Keyser.

That would have Reaves and Shamet covering the Baker/VanVleet roles, Keyser covering the Cotton role, McDuffie covering the Early role, and Miitgard covering the post. It's almost certain there will be some JuCo talent added to the roster - and possibly a good-sized Fr class.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

:) Your guess is as good as mine as to who fills that 3/4 role...

                            • 3G does have a bit of a pig in the python problem after next year.

As it stands right now we will have, excluding walkons but including 1 excess scholarship player, 7 seniors, 3 juniors, 3 sophomores and 1 freshman. One of those 14 will either not be at WSU or will not be no an athletic scholarship. It will be interesting to see how 3G goes about replacing those 6 or 7 scholarship seniors next year. If he goes too heavy in the Juco ranks he will then he could be faced with the same problem in 2 years. I would think we would see a mix of jucos, freshmen and possibley a transfer if he can find the right fit. He may just let the talent available to him dictate that and not worry to much about class balance.

                              • Yes, 1972 -- I also suspect Marshall would prefer not to have to replace quite so many guys at one time, but he's shown before that he believes he can sort out the classes as required. So it's likely that he will indeed focus primarily on talent rather than class status, because it's hard to imagine him voluntarily accepting a down / rebuilding year.

Also, with all the graduate transfers these days, it's easier than in the past to fill a spot for just one year at a time. So the class that currently consists of Hamilton, McDuffie, and Haynes-Jones (assuming it's still intact by the end of the 2017-18 season) would seem to be a good candidate for augmentation during recruiting next year (which nowadays runs clear through the summer transferring season). We may not know who WSU's 2018-19 senior class will be until school starts two Septembers from now.
