We've been watching him the last year. Played all summer with the team and was very impressive to the other players.

Not a surprise and his recruitment was about to blow up

I guess I'll need to make more of an effort to get to a couple of Hutch games this year.

May want to start a thread on Xavier Bryant soon as well.

Congrats to Mr Jones, young man from the city playing for the Wichita State. We can expect great things from him

Saw the tweet that he unofficially visited WSU. What high school is he from?

Since the vibe seems to be this kid is an under the radar "get", would the assumption be that we'd get him to paper during the early signing period in November?

Very similar stats to Daishon last year. Samajae looks like more of a natural scorer.

Samajae freshman year @ Hutch: http://www.njcaa.org/sports/mbkb/201...aynesjonesxaf3

Daishon sophomore year @ Tallahassee: http://www.njcaa.org/sports/mbkb/201...ishonsmith2byq

Great comparison.....although I am going to offer my opinion that Samajae was the benefactor of superior coaching with Joe Jackson (not the singer) in HS and Steve Eck in JUCO which will put him ahead of Daishon.

Nice article and might explain the interest.

Hutchinson’s Samajae Haynes-Jones carries NJCAA Tournament buzz into summer

                            Position?

He's referred to himself in another Eagle article as a "pass-first" guard. In the article calfan linked, he says he tried to do all the things a point guard is supposed to do.

It sounds like he thinks he's a PG, but some posters are referring to him as a 5'11" SG. His JC stats look more like thoise of a SG. High scoring with few assists, but JC ball sometimes isn't terribly dependent on assists.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

Aargh, here's a NewsOK article that clearly says he's a PG, not a SG (and I think he's a little short to be a SG):
The Oklahoman is the number one source for Oklahoma City breaking news, politics, business, sports, entertainment and obituaries.

By the way, can anyone who knows more about Juco BB than I do answer this question:

Based on the article, would it be that he's being considered for pre-season Juco AA honors? I would say definitely so based on the referenced article.
