  • I didn't realize that Milton Jennings is a H.S. teammate of KT. Jennings is very deserving of his 5 star rating and should be a great power forward with a very smooth outside shot for Clemson. Hopefully Pinewood will go higher than #25.

Also, I had a guy close to the Program tell me that Gabe Blair will be a 'differnce maker' for our squad next year. With Ramon and Mantas G. graduating, it is nice to see us reload. I am wondering if Gabe is healed up so he can now again practice with the team?
I'll probably get a bunch of crap for this but that's never stopped me before. I am very much looking forward to Kenny next year and to Gabe being a "difference maker." However, being a "difference maker" was what was being said about Hawkins all last year -- and unfortunately I've not seen that "difference" materialize. I'm still waiting and I am a patient person however there is a limit even to my patience.

      • I thought the same thing about Hawkins when Blair was mentioned as a difference maker. While I certainly look forward to what Blair and Hawkins will do next year, I can't imagine not missing Clemente a ton!

        • Every transfer we've ever had has been described as "the best player on the practice floor", "a difference maker", or "an upgrade from what we have now". Then they always take almost a full season to get rolling once they are eligible. Some become everything they were advertised (Kyle Wilson) while others were good, but nothing compared to their hype (Karon Bradley). I would give Hawk until the second time through the conference before being too critical. If we weren't excited by our transfers, I would be worried about the future of the program.

          • We could also look at Paul Miller's Senior year. He was a redshirt his first year and did not set the world on fire through and including his Junior year. However, what a difference maker he was his Senior year. MVC MVP, and beyond what we even envisioned. Now that is the way finish a career!!! I still remember him leading us to the double overtime win here at the Chuck versus Southern Illinois butcher defense with 30 points.

            • actually KJ reminds more a Jason Kidd type, who does it all, Scores a little but who looks to pass the ball more than anything, but who is not afraid to get on the boards.

                • I think he did most of his scoring at the end of the southern game. They announced him as the player of the game during the final minutes of regulation, and after that he was on a mission. I will never forget Falkers expression after Miller scored on him in OT. He ran down the court looking over at his bench and threw his hands up in disgust and had the look of "how in the heck do you stop this guy".

KJ doesn't get beat up and threatened by his wife though

                    • Speaking of Karon Bradley, during his Senior year, he was not huge game in and game out during that banner Shocker Season. However, Karon hit some huge pressure shots that helped us win some close ones. Also, there was some games his quickness was key on defensive match ups that also assisted us in some big games. That year, we had several weapons and we never knew who might lead us from game to game. I still remember Matty B. draining those 3 and 4 point plays here when we beat Creighton.

Just a couple of paragraphs in the article, but KJ scored 20 and had 6 assists.

                        • Thanks 1979Shocker. 1979 was a good year and it appears Kenny had a great game. It was extremely wise signing him early. Now we just need the very best small forward we can find to go with this solid recruiting class coming in.

The year we made it to the Sweet 16 recently---we had 8-9 solid players could hoop. Thus, no matter what the match up issues we faced that year, various ones of those player we had stepped up in most games on both sides of the court.

As we watch HCGM continue to develop this blueprint to success, we can be assured that quality players are here and on the way to take us back dancing to the basketball promised land

                            • Pinewood Prep may be team to beat in Roundball

Pinewood Prep, fresh off a tournament championship in the Bahamas with two big-time players, just might be the team to beat when the 16-team tournament tips off Dec. 26 at West Ashley High School.
Pinewood is also slated to play in tournaments in Columbia, Atlanta, New York and possibly Washington, thanks to the dynamic duo of Milton Jennings, one of the top players in the country, and Kenny Manigault, who just might be the most underrated player in the country. Jennings recently signed with Clemson and Manigault with Wichita State.
