I completely agree. I thought we were still talking about Daishon Smith.

We were but I drift at times as the Season gets so close. Then I think about Hannah, Rags, and Armstud as Juco guards of times past which excites me all the more about Smith. So even though Smith is not the sharpshooter these players were, I love a quick-on quick guard that can break down a foes D., as he either dishes or draws fouls in the process. When they get used to that, we can insert Frankamp who can drain 3's all day and night long. I just wonder if Mr. Smith will be similar to a Robert George who could score and dish with his quickness.

      • I don't know where Mr Smith fits in next year, but he, Taylor, Frankamp, Shamet, Keyser, Allen, and Brown will make for some serious depth at the 1/2. With McDuffie sharing time on the wing with a couple of those guys, we will have the opportunity to play with some serious quickness and length in the back court.

        • I'd be surprised if Brown gets meaningful minutes at any guard position for WSU, wufan, but that simply means that if everyone who is expected to show up does so, and everyone scheduled to be eligible is and sticks around, WSU will have six (instead of 7+) talented guys competing for minutes at the guard spots in 2016-17 -- assuming no one else is added.

          That should be plenty.

          • Daishon opened the season last weekend with two games in the Chipola tournament. He scored 9 points, had 2 steals and 2 assists in a 64-26 opening win, then scored 22 points with 7 assists and 1 only turnover in a 83-76 loss to Georgia Highlands. Daishon had 11 points in both halves and was 2-5 from three point range.

I like that he can score, and I like that his jumper is improved, but that 7:1 a/t got me like:

                • No box score available -- but Daishon led all scorers with 18 in a blowout win last night. Nice highlights at the link below. TV news chick is pumped!

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The Tallahassee Community College men's basketball team is 1-1 on the season under new head coach Mark White. White may be new, but he knows how tough the Panhandle Conference is, and he knows there's much work that needs to be done.

                  • Watched the highlight, and it was nice, although the sound was a bit choppy on my computer. The newsbabe has her sports jargon down pretty well, too. WstateU will probably be disappointed, though -- he probably had something different in mind when you said she was pumped.

                      • Might have stolen one here. Smith seems to be having a breakout year.

                        • I would trade straight across. I would send WTXL 1 Jenn Bates and 2 Will Cuntkles for 1 Alison Posey... and it would still be an upgrade on our end.

                          • Early signing period right around the corner. Starts next Wednesday, November 11th and runs through the following Wednesday, November 18th. Looking forward to getting Daishon and C.J. locked up and perhaps a big man.

I can't find the link to the JucoJunction 150.

This doesn't surprise me at all. When I first saw his stats, I was puzzled, but after reading up on him, it was clear that he was about to burst onto the scene.
