  • Turnovers can be the result of somebody else not being in the right place or not doing their job or not catching the ball. Examples, Tulsa and Taylor lob to BWam...who committed the turnover? Last night, Shamet inbound to Baker off his hand. Baker got the turnover, and will 999 out of 1000 catch that pass from Shamet, but was the pass good? Perhaps too hard? Timing a split second off? Antoine Carr, for example, made all of our guards look like great passers because he could make chicken salad out of chicken s....
"I not sure that I've ever been around a more competitive player or young man than Fred VanVleet. I like to win more than 99.9% of the people in this world, but he may top me." -- Gregg Marshall 12/23/13 :peaceful:

Remember when Nancy Pelosi said about Obamacare:
"We have to pass it, to find out what's in it".

A physician called into a radio show and said:
"That's the definition of a stool sample."

    • TT bounce pass to Shaq for the dunk. Open, easy, perfect. Except Shaq never moved, watched it go out of bounds. Taylor went and sat down.

Antoine made them look good when he was an upperclassman. Not so much when he was a freshman.

I might need to watch that one again. The way I remember it, Shaq was double teamed and help side dug down when the pass was thrown.

Baker could have caught it and maybe should have caught it. However, the pass was very close (less than 10' ), and it was a little high (not a difficult pass to be accurate). If the pass hits him in the chest, he catches it for sure. To me, Baker's attention appeared to be divided by the defense and the pass. The pass being high is similar to a double play with the shortstop and second baseman. They don't want to reach for the ball and then make the play.

But you are right. There is a fine line between a TO and a good play.

                  I don't know?? Those 3 turnovers.....he'll need to work on that. :tongue-new:

100% from the field (7-7/5-5), 7-9 FT, 26 points, 4 rebounds, 7 assists, and 2 steals. Very, very nice.

                  • Going to be some good battles for PG minutes next year with CF, TT, and Smith.

                    • As many recruiting misses we have had, 3G has an excellent record with Juco PGs. Smith looks to be a great get.

                          • I watched the second half. Nice distributor of the ball. Could get his shot any time he wanted. Great looking stroke. Appeared to want to dish first, score second. It's just he is the best weapon on the team.

                            • Daishon's per game stats to date:

                              15.7 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 4.2 apg, .457 FG%, .375 3FG%, .747 FT%, 1.1 steals pg, 3.2 TO pg

As others have mentioned, he will need to rein in the turnovers...but all other facets look good to real good at this point. Great diamond in the rough find by our staff.

                              • Smith and Shamet will be our backcourt next year, barring any additions...taylor is seeming like just a backup off the bench guy...hope im wrong, but seeing him gallop on the court gives me no confidence his point guard duties...there seems to be no flow, and the one thing he is known for, shooting, is even a little questionable at times
