I wonder if his visiting Wichita State first give us any kind of advantage. You'd think that if he's not leaning towards any one school, then visiting us first could make his choice easier.

        I always love these discussions.

If he visits us first, it will give us an advantage to sign him before visiting anywhere else.
If he visits us last, we'll close with the best pitch and be fresh on his mind as he selects us.
No one has ever told me how going in the middle is to our advantage, but I'm sure somebody can come up with something.

The middle is to our advantage because it means we get a well-raised, well-mannered young man who takes his last visit out of sense of responsibility that he should deliver the news of his commit to WSU in person to the coach who will be missing out.

In business, the last to pitch has the advantage. When we were in competition, we finangled every way to be presenting last.

I have no idea about recruiting.

I wonder, if someone has written a book about the science of the recruitment of college athletes.

Well, Ricky, one thing that's different about recruiting vs. business is that sometimes the first (or someone else not originally scheduled as last) to pitch becomes the last, because the recruit is so impressed he decides during his visit and cancels the rest.

Hasn't this happened with a couple of other recruits?

Although, somewhat like business, sometimes greasing the wheels makes things more favorable for your product.

Maybe the coaches see that in one of guys we are known to be after, but I took it to mean a little more.
I guess it's not Zimmerman, but he will be on the schedule next year.

@TheRecruitScoop: Top-15 senior Stephen Zimmerman is staying home to play at UNLV. How good will next year’s Rebels team be? https://t.co/s8Ie7Gna4w

Just look at his posts here and the other fan board. He is hoping for a top 10 or so big. One is already off the board to UNLV. I don't want to ruin anybody's hopes but.....

This is correct. I have no more details then what I have already said. I was told a game changing big man was being recruited. HCGM has been in on some in the past that were never reported by rivals et al. My hope is that we are in on one now.

Totally agree, Wufan. Now that Dazon Inghram's off the board, I'm also hoping we get a big man. Mulder would be a great addition, but I'm betting that Marshall intends to start Wessel at the three. I'm thinking that Brown will see playing time at the three as well (and probably some at the four). Mulder is probably more athletic than Wessel, but HCGM has shown that he is loyal to hustle players, so I'm thinking that Wessel will be difficult to dislodge. As a result, it may be difficult for Mulder to get playing time.

That would mean our real need is for a proven big man, as I think we are a little thin at the 4/5.
