Maybe it's just FVV's latest "assist"

Question comes up frequently. Can't do it and have him play basketball, a rule which makes sense imo or there would be abuse.

          Not even without exemption?

And what part of that isn't wild speculation?

According to you it might be wild speculation...because I don't remember you inquiring if it's my wild speculative opinion, or if I had any insight based on reasonable contacts.

I have no idea if @SHOXMVC has any direct knowledge or not but the possibility that 3G might place an incoming recruit at Sunrise seems like a very reasonable possibility. Especially, now that he has done that once with Zach Brown and now has a 2nd player from Sunrise although he initially committed to Ole Miss.

We have 7 incoming recruits with the addition of Rauno Nurger. Two are Jucos, and three I think have come the prep school route and have that extra year of maturity and experience. That leaves only 2 true freshman. One of those freshman is probably going to be groomed as a back up for Fred. The other freshman is said to be very athletic but a little raw. It's possible a year of playing time at a prep school for that player would be of much greater value than a RS year at the end of the Shocker bench and he will still have 5 years to complete his 4 years of eligibility IF he does become a Shocker in a year. That's the risk with prep school. The player is no longer committed and can re-evaluate his original choice to be a Shocker.

Sure there are other possibilities on how 3G may deal with this. But the above possibility makes a lot of sense and can be a win-win for both the player and the Shocks in the long-run.

That said we will just have to wait and see. As 3G has started in the past, he can count to 13 and he also said in direct response to a question from a reporter yesterday that he believes he does have a scholarship available. That translates to: Yes I have this worked out and you will find out how in due time.

Maybe we have one going to prep for the opposite reason of being a brainiac?

Not picking on Wesel but it's my understanding that he's dropping off of the team to devote more time to academics. Evidently getting an engineering degree is quite time consuming. The move will be strictly voluntary and was, in fact, Wessel's idea.

I hope not; I think he would play a big role this season.

That is certainly understandable, if that in fact is the case.. Evan's livelihood will not likely come from playing basketball. Although if that is the case you have to wonder why he is participating in the summer workouts, although he may be participating just to stay in shape and because he enjoys it.

That really hurts if so. The importance of glue guys when they are not scoring get easily overlooked. But we have conflicting reports and nothing official so waiting before jumping to conclusion is in order.

Here's the deal. FSF has done some homework on this new Shocker player. I have not seen him play but spoke with some eye-witnesses that have indeed watched him play. After processing my findings, I would like to offer some opinions which is what we do best on here.

What is the first word that describes what I heard? Warrior!!!! So this is what I think about him being ranked 247th. You can't measure heart and this young man plays hard every play, strives to win while playing his role, and I have a strong hunch he is still another Shocker recruit that smoothly fits our System that was flying under the radar and is very much under-ranked. He will help us on both sides of the court.

We waited and we waited. Now we know that about the only concern we had pending has just been addressed. Here is a player that will give his all on both sides of the court and do what is asked of him. We lost lots of players that played positions four and five. Mr. Carter will lead us at these 2 slots and Shaq will be back. Can u dig it?

When you don't sign 5 stars, then what can you possibly do to compete? Let's start with 3 names. Baker(he is a bad bad boy). Fred (my KU acqaintances not only dream but also worry about him), and Cotton (he is a defensive stopper and specialist that mess our foes stars up). Keep in mind. Mr. Cotton will be a Senior.

Now let's just say from there, our quality depth is scary good. Let me say this about that. Our overall depth could be the best ever in Shocker History? Yes, we will have lot's of new players that will be expected to play together and produce from jump street. Sleep well tonight and don't worry one iota. Shocker basketball is looking 'finer than a frog-hair baybay!!!!!!!.'
Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.
