I was very impressed with Shamet's maturity and ability to communicate at the age of 17. That kid is going somewhere in life, even if the basketball part of it up and disappears.

I'm much less impressed with FutureFattyBates running apologetics on WSU with the "golly gee it sure is unheard of for WSU to get a top 100 player". The lack of knowledge she showed on him a couple of days ago on the sportscast was equally atrocious. I'm about done with her, as well as the entirety of the KWCH sports department. Since Heartl left they have gone from the clear leader, to the clear numero tres in the Wichita market.

She lost me as a viewer back when she was saying WSU is just a midmajor and no way Marshall would stay here or something to that effect.

Unfortunately, I believe she forgot who butters her bread; both KWCH female sports anchors are nearing 'strike 3' with me. Their 'bcs' bias sticks out like dog's balls. I don't expect local news people to be Shocker homers, however I do expect them to use common sense when reporting Shocker news. I miss 'The Bruce'; he was one of us.

When we start missing "The Bruce" things are getting pretty bad. I will agree that the sports knowledge about WSU has diminished quite a bit. Both of the female sportscasters have a power conference bias as one being from florida and the other an okie poke.

Had to go to the KWCH site to look up her name, but while I was there I was surprised to see that Grant Meech is now gone too (can you tell it has been a while since I have paid attention to KWCH). KWCH sports is so weak you can't find a pulse.

I know it is sexist to admit it this, but I am no more likely to watch what is essentially a female-only sportscasting department than women are going to watch The View (and a gaggle of other daytime TV talk shows) if it was converted to an all male team. So good for you on pushing the gender envelope KWCH. When the advertising income falls I'm sure you will conjure up something else to blame it on other than the answer that is staring you in the face.

Goodness. Looks like Meech has been gone from KWCH for over 3 months. That's 3 months of irrelevance for KWCH from at least 1 viewer.

Meanwhile, back to Shamet -- I listened to the interview, and he is indeed remarkable for his age. The only thing more remarkable is how Marshall and his staff keep finding these guys: FVV, Baker, now Shamet, etc. It's hard to imagine any program this side of the Ivy League with more impressive on-the-court spokesmen.

I think he's looking at the ESPN rankings- they have Landry as the #65 SG, rated as a 3 star with a score of 77.
