I like Porter's game, if he plays next season the way he started off this season he'll be really good overall.

We may have been, but OK didn’t have a set PG or back up and we had both.

Moser is cleaning up at Oklahoma in the portal. Holy cow. Both Groves boys and Goldwire.

He’s been there for two weeks and showing WSU how to be aggressive and successful in the transfer portal.

I’m glad we got Grant over Goldwire. He has more potential upside. Put a Duke jersey on Grant and people would be falling over themselves with excitement that he signed here. Put a West Texas State jersey on Goldwire and people would be wondering why the coaching staff is even recruiting him.

I’m happy with the way the staff is approaching recruiting. They’ve addressed our areas of weakness - shooting, rebounding, and inside presence - and we still have three more scholarships.

OU is in a completely different situation than WSU. One team is scrambling to build a roster from scratch, the other is looking to fill a few roles from a team that won a conference championship and went to the NCAA.

I really like Grant. I was not a big fan of Goldwire. Defense is good but you still have to put the ball in the basket.

Pretty easy sales pitch. "Hey we just have to not be K-State horrible and we will make the tourney" .... oh and most of the team left so there are lots of minutes for you.

What's Porter has done so far is pretty damned impressive

I wasn't nearly as high on Goldwire as many, but he is perfectly capable of putting the ball in the basket. Not every PG has to be a score first option, and personally, I prefer they not be.

And really with having 2 Junior PGs (or 1 PG and 1 SG capable of playing point, not counting Etienne) plus Freshman Jenkins, we really have a lot of options at point. Another HS or second year Freshman PG would be nice from a development standpoint.

Goldwire would have been great. He wasn't a silver bullet recruit, but he would have been good. I'm much more concerned about our players at the 4 and 5 next year than our point guard and wings. I think our guards are good and AG held Porter back. I would not be against having a Freshman Point Guard if one came available but we don't have to have one imo.

But a Freshman 4/5 man would be great. I do like McFarlane's potential, and Mo improved but we need more than 5 rebounds out of that position and more scoring out of the 4 and 5 positions.

I think there is a good chance that second year Jackson can improve upon Wade’s production last year. Joe Pleasant is an upgrade whether he’s starting or coming off the bench.

If he plays 30 minutes over the entire season McFarlane will be an upgrade over Bilau by virtue of being on the court more. Can he improve on IBPC’s 3 points, 2 rebound average? I will be disappointed if not.

We still need a third center who can defend and rebound.

Pohto would compete immediately for play time and just Maybe he would be or very close to our our best 5. He’s at least ranked as high as Fred was after HS Senior season and would be our highest HS Center, since John Smith. I think he’d compete for 15 minutes per game, maybe more.
