To elaborate of my post, I have no idea if this kid will average that in his career here, particularly under this coaching staff. I doubt it, but that's just my opinion. Either way, I will cheer him on as long as he is a class act and good representative of the university and city.

Well, and at least give good minutes from the bench to help give guys rest.
My biggest concerns is his inconsistencies. Had several games with 3+ turnovers, but plenty of games with less.
Some games would shoot lights out and others he seems to disappear and go O'fer.
Several games it seems he would be kind of foul prone.
Just the inconsistency of it all. I dont expect a perfect game from anyone lol. But he seemed to be hot or cold game to game.
He is a Shocker now though so I will hope for the best and hope he can find a role on the team!
Who knows, maybe being close to home will awaken something inside of him lol
So stats wise .. Fred did 11.6 ppg. Comparable. Shot 48% FG and 41%3pt. So comparable overall FG but FVV shot better from 3. Fred had multiple games with 3+ TO, but yes not as many as Bell. Fred would go lights out some games but had games of 4, 4, 2, 3,3,6,6, 6,4,5. No 0fer games but multiple 1fer games. Fred averaged 2 fouls a game, Bell 2.2. Obviously the part where Fred completely crushes Bell is assists.
So yet again, I do not think he will be Fred or ever come close .. just saying dissecting a year like this on an individual for even what was arguably the greatest year in WSU history ... you could say many of the same things you are saying about Bell.

Obviously we know that team went undefeated but likely had a WAY higher talent level on the team than Drexel did this year. Though I'd argue the Valley competition that year probably didn't drastically outpace Drexel's competition this year. The Valley was pretty bad.

****edited because I don't want to be over critical of a kid who hasn't played for us yet. I will just hope for the best like all of us****Last edited by shockerfan; April 8, 2022, 05:52 PM."He called me around noon and was thrilled," Brandt said. Not overwhelming considering the competition. But better than a 225-300 type frosh.
With WSU's most reliable scorer hitting the portal it'll be up to this newcomer, and hopefully Ricks, to contribute to what was an anemic perimeter attack. The question is can he contribute on the fast break? There's not a player on the current roster who has shown that ability, and it's sorely needed, to get easy baskets. How about another proven point guard?
All in all a decent pick up. Now what's really needed is some front line help.
