      • District MVP?

Houston area....that's saying something I think. KF wasn't that great a team this year, correct?

Wow, with all the attention on other recruits, we have obviously slept on Derail Green.

Have we had a Texas recruit with that kind of recognition?

Not sure. We had a recruit out of Dallas many years ago who had a pretty good career at WSU. Not sure what kind of high school recognition he received. Name escapes me...wait a minute, oh yeah Dave Stallworth.

Seriously though I do not really know how heavily Dave was recruited or how highly regarded he was coming out of high school.

This 2009 article included Dave as one of the Top 16 players to ever come out of Texas although not sure if that is based on high school careers or their entire body of work through pro ball:

Texas basketball might not have the cache of Friday Night Lights, but fans still come out in droves to see the state's best players and coaches.

Sorry to high jack the thread. Dave's my all-time favorite.

Warren Armstrong and Simmie Hill were very big deals too. I believe that Hill was thes second rated recruit behind Lew Alcindor.

Yes, but the question posed was for recruits out of Texas. I think Simmie was from PA and Warren was from KC, MO.

                      • I will be more than satisfied if we get as much production and class out of Derail as we did our last recruit out of Klein Forest.

Armstrong was from KC, Hill from Pennsylvania, monster.

                          • Too bad we didn't have someone close to the situation at KF like we've had for FVV. Green would be getting a lot more love

                              • I haven't seen where the TABC all-state teams have been announced. Am I wrong? Or is this just inside information supposedly?
