Losing Ede, adding the other four guys who have committed, putting Baker on scholarship as has been reported, and getting Hawkins, would put the Shocks at 13 for 2012-13 without counting Mitchell or Armstead.
The Eagle just stated that Armstead and Baker will be on scholarship in 2012-13. Even if Ede has in fact left, the current returning roster plus Armstead and Baker, plus the four expected to sign today leaves us at...13. Hawkins would put us one over and JUCO AA Mitchell is still a walk-on.

For what it's worth, I kinda expect Teddy to verbal this weekend and then waver, and then we'll see.

Another article on DePaul being ahead of Dayton. Dayton not going hard after Yates hurt their chances.

Dayton just got a commitment from Devon Scott. Further removing them from the picture.

CU has the "Doug McDermott" scholarship - his Dad will pay if there's a quality player available for another 'ship. I'm starting to wonder whether WSU might have an "Evan Wessel" 'ship. His family does bleed black and yellow.

I like the fact that Hawkins is coming here during the signing period. He can sign his LOI in the convenience of HCGM's office. Save all that faxing bother.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.

In my mind, not that it matters, Evan Wessel has EARNED his scholarship. The McDermott thing is an entirely different animal. It's a freebie and a benefit to have a son of a coach who happens to be a complete stud. I'd like WSU to have the same opportunity in 4 years or so.

I've only heard it from Sully. Haven't heard a coach say it yet.

It was in today's Eagle in the article about the exhibition.

You have to wonder whether Sully is just taking that on assumption or whether he has been told that.

It would be easy to see why one would assume that since Division I transfers almost always are scholarship recipients. On the other hand, Paul generally isn't one to write stuff on the basis of assumption.

                    • Info coming from DePaul writers is Hawkins will make his decision after the visit to Wichita State and before the end of the November signing period. No more talk right now about him waiting until Spring.

                            • Yes he was with Coach Ford in the tunnel before the game.

The Beast is entertaining him tonight.

                              • Didn't pick him out till the second half. At that point, he did not appear too engaged. Wish I had been watching him in the first half.
